Showmars Monroe — Restaurant in Monroe

I've eaten at Showmars nearly 30 years, mostly in Mint Hill. My experience today in Monroe was terrible.

I ordered a crispy chicken BLT salad. My partner had a pita sandwich and fries. His meal came in about 10+ minutes. After another 10 minutes, where's my salad? I was told it's coming. Another 5 minutes I asked if they went to the farmer's market for lettuce. I asked for a refund and was told to wait, that the cook said my salad was next. I said to bag it to go. My partner finished eating and we needed to go. When it arrived at my table the dressing was incorrect and they gave me an unpack aged plastic knife.

So as I eat my salad at work, the lettuce is wilted and brown spotted (old), the chicken portion is half what I get in Mint Hill and the pita tough and dry.

I bet I've eaten a 100 of these salads from Mint Hill. This salad was terrible and the service very disappointing. I'll not return to the Monroe location. I asked for a refund - it wasn't worth you making me wait.

This doesn't diminish my satisfaction with the Mint...

Sharing our experience from a few months ago. My wife's cousin came down from Sparta with his family so we decided to hit Shomars for the first time.

We were greeted by friendly staff that took our order. They we're knowledgeable about the menu and patient with our group of 9.

This was a great place to bring the kids. Not that they are rowdy or were rowdy but they just didn't seem to be the pressure to make sure they are not going to bother anybody.

Food took about 20-30 minutes but they brought stuff out as it was ready which was great for the kids. All of our platters for fantastic. Manager (I'm sorry I forgot your name) came over at least on two occasions to check on us and ask if we wanted it needed anything.

Honestly overall great experience my only constructive criticism would be to implement a cleaning schedule or intensify the one currently in place. As an operations manager with Marriott I would hire every person what...

I was visiting my friend and we decided to go out for lunch. She asked if I've been to a Showmar. I said I've never heard of it. She described the food and I said , let's stop there. Dottie at the register was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I ordered the bbq and tots with a Dr Pepper. My friend ordered the gyro salad with sweet tea. I quickly asked if I could have a sweet tea instead of Dr Pepper. She said that it wasn't a problem. She always had a beautiful smile when talking to her!

We got our order. My tots were not warm but they were very crunchy which I love crunchy tater tots! I forgave them for not having hot tots! I dipped them in bbq. DELICIOUS! The BBQ sandwich with extra bbq sauce added was amazing, juicy, the right amount of smokey flavor and tender!
