I called for reservations for 2. Parking lot was packed, so I figured the food must be good, right? I never found out. We ordered our drinks (which were good) and were given bread. Dining room was packed, and their banquet hall had a big party going on. As time went by, our waiter never asked if we were ready to order. Just kept looking at us and asking if we were ok for now. I’m assuming he was asking due to the kitchen being backed up. Then more time went by. I noticed other tables with their water glasses 3/4 full being topped off. I was perceiving this as a stall tactic since the kitchen must have been overwhelmed. After 30 minutes, I looked at my wife and said ‘if the waiter doesn’t ask for our order in 15 minutes, we are leaving. Not once did he come to us and asked a simple question ‘would you like to place your order.’ The straw that broke the camels back was when couple with their children were seated. 15 minutes later, a plate of fried calamari was served to them. That’s when I stopped him and said, write us up for our drinks (which we were nursing and never finished). He asked why, and I made it clear that our reservation was at 7pm, and it’s now 7:50, and not once did you approach us for our order. He blamed me since he stopped by 2 times to make sure we were ok. I looked at him as if he had 3 heads. I said ‘your job as our waiter is to ask a simple question, would you like to start off with appetizers.’
What upset me more was that the manager did not bother to call us the next day and now going on to two days. Would think a bill for two drinks that were 1/2 way finished and no tip would warrant a ‘hey, what happened?’ Especially when we occupied the table during a busy time for one hour.
Advice to management, don’t take a reservation when you don’t have the man-power. Other tables were noticing the same issue. You can only refill water so many times to stalll. I’m sure the food is great, and for the price, I assumed the service would reflect that too. I paid for our drinks and left. Went to another restaurant that was busy, and that waiter had our bread, drinks, and apps on our table...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend decided to go to Testos as we and most of my family loved the Bridgeport location. I ordered the penne a la vodka and it was amazing as always. My boyfriend ordered the Filet. He asked the server for it medium and when it came out it was really rare. They then brought it back cooked more. He then cut into it and some pieces were raw and some pieces were charred and well done. He decided to just pick around it but let the server know the issue with it and she offered to bring it back to cook more but he declined because then it would be more charred and inedible. When it was time to pay me and my boyfriend didn’t feel comfortable paying full price for a steak that wasn’t cooked the way he asked for it. Michelle the sever was very nice and brought the manager over for him. The manager then stated that since he ate “over half” of the steak that she couldn’t issue a discount or offer anything else. We didn’t even ask for it to be completely discounted. She then asked why he didn’t ask the server for something else. We were never brought the option to order something else also it was 9:15 and we didn’t feel like ordering something else to then to wait for it while I was already done with my pasta. In the end he just payed full price for it even though the manager was very disrespectful and didn’t the handle the situation well given that it is a new restaurant location. We usually are not complainers but this was completely...
Read moreWent in during the week to the bar thinking we would have a quick bit to eat. There were 2 bartenders working and it took about 10 minutes before we got menus and ordered drinks. Then about another 30 minutes before we got to place our apps and dinner. Everything took forever and when we finally got our meals mine was not what I ordered. So we asked for that to be fixed and waited and waited. The food was taking so long so we said can we get this to-go we had enough .. Ten minutes later it came out to the bar and then the bartender realized we said to-go... We asked for the check, another 15 minutes.. we were there for 2 hours and was able to get one app to eat.. I looked around and saw the same things happening to other folks. Never have we experienced this on a night out. Everyone has their first day on the job... But if you have a coworker who isn't willing to help or train I would think twice who you are hiring. The bartender was left stumbling. The other bartender could have helped us and all of the other folks at the bar but clearly chose not to. It was very very obvious and not a good look for your restaurant. We have been here about half a dozen times since you opened in Monroe. We will probably never come back as this was just an...
