Hubby and I wanted lunch so we went to Max & Emma's on a Sunday. Parking is always plentiful so we didn't have a problem with that. It was a little crowded but since it was only us 2 we didn't have to wait. The service was great, our waitress was very attentive. We ordered the potato skins with the bacon on the side since I don't eat pork. They were so good. Love how they kept it original and not tried to overdo it. For the drink I got mama not a break I believe but it was delicious . Entrees: my husband got the chicken tenders which were so fresh. I got the salmon which was seasoned to perfection. The baked potato was sooo good and big so I couldn't finish it all. We would be back for sure ☺️

This was a nice restaurant in the past. I frequented the downtown location while attending evening classes at CCAC. This is my first time eating at this location and I will never come again. The portions were smaller than I would like. I ordered the Pittsburgh salad usually the bell peppers would be the same size and they were not. I had what looked like 6 pieces of steak and it wasn’t cut evenly. It was almost like the chef had zero experience cooking in a kitchen. There were fruit flies don’t waste your time at this location. The bathroom was very clean and the staff was constantly cleaning up. Not one ounce of dirt on the floor.

Service was friendly but unorganized, servers were running all over the place. The layout was not well thought out tall tables next to standard table so someones ass is at eye level with you 2 feet away. Also they tables were so tight together you had to wait to leave or move if some one else was coming the other way. The menu is small and not many bottled beers to choose from. The food wasn't bad but for the price should have been better. The burger was very greasy. But cooked to order. The mac and cheese tasted like cheap frozen packs.

Three of us ate lunch there today. Restaurant was busy but it seemed that the flow of customer service was very much in control and diners were obviously very happy. We were seated quickly and greeted by front of house managment. After being seated we met our server. Ordered drinks and were given time to explore the menu options. By the way I have almost 45 years in the Foodservice industry and managment so I may be boring with my review to some folks. Anyway , our waitress returned and we placed our orders. I questioned her on 5 different item's and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. This was a very good sign that we picked the right place to dine. Have you ever ordered a salad at a nice restaurant and it's served at room temperature? Not here , salad was ice cold as it should be. Beautiful plate presentation and good knife skills on the vegetables within. House made dressing was delicious and the additional blue cheese crumbles were creamy and pungent. It was definitely of good quality and plentiful. It was an additional .75 cents. That is unheard-of nowadays that it cost so little for what was recieved. Soups were excellent and served piping hot. Chicken Tortilla and the Broccoli Chedder blew us away. It was pouring down rain outside when we arrived so I believe the soup was a obvious choice. It is served with garlic bread sticks. We also had sandwiches. One of my guests was born and raised in Philadelphia and she ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. She would not give me any to taste ,so I would say it was a winner . I could hear mmmmm noises from across the table. Served with fries, I did get some of those because there was a giant pile of them. Crispy , Hot and they have a house blend seasoning on them. Delicious, you won't miss the Heinz Ketchup. By now we are very satisfied. Service was exceptional and managment stopped by several times to ensure we were happy, , which we were.. Empty plates were cleared and Dessert was suggested.. I seen on the table tent that they served Cookies? Kinda surprised me. Several other items were available but we were all about to bust. I ordered them anyway. 3 choc. chunk and 3 white choc. macadamia. 2 for each of us. I think the half dozen was 7 bucks. Well , they arrived to the table warm , chewy and gooey. We are all 65 plus years old and you would have sworn we were 6 years old again by the giggles at the table eating these gems. We were impressed and will definitely return. On the way out we stopped at the restroom before leaving. Bathroom well kept ,clean and fully stocked. I wanted to peek inside the kitchen to check for cleanliness and any noticeable Serve Safe violations but honestly there is no doubt in my mind that the Chef / Kitchen manager runs a tight ship. Well done and Thank you. I hope I didn't put...

I ordered the 3 course combo. I ordered the tortilla soup for my first course. The soup was great, like eating a cheese sauce on tortilla chips. I think it would be even better with hamburger meat instead of chicken in it. Combo comes with a cheeseburger. I don't usually want to order a burger when I go somewhere nicer than fast food but the photos made them all look so yummy. Totally disappointed in the burger. Had absolutely no flavor. I honestly have had better tasting burgers from the value menu at Burger King and McDonald's. The slice of cheese on it was so thin you could literally see the burger through it. The processed American cheese wrapped in plastic that I get at home had more flavor than their American cheese. Skimpy slice of tomato that only covered the middle of the burger. The bun was literally cold like it had just been taken out of the refrigerator and was so fat you couldn't even get your mouth around it and the burger. I don't know if it was the burger or the bun but one of them must have been laid down on the counter right after someone cleaned it because I was tasting bleach, or maybe the cook had it on his gloves or something? Macaroon cookie was delicious and the waitress was nice. I'd say if I went there again I'd order the cheese soup again but if I got a burger I definitely would get one that was loaded with other stuff for flavor. (It also didn't help that they had a sports channel on one of their TVs that had UFC wrestling where the blood was falling all...

A minor mistake was made into a horrible experience by a manager who should know better. We stopped in at about 3:30 on 3/3/18. I wasn't as hungry as my fiance so I ordered a cup of soup and a small salad. My salad was prepared incorrectly so I asked that they take it back and remove it from the bill. I never send food back to be fixed as I have worked in food service and know what happens to people's food when they complain. I simply asked that the $4 salad be taken away and removed from the check. There was likely $1 or less in food cost in that salad. Instead of just apologizing and leaving it at that the manager came out and made it a big deal. I told her politely that I did not want a replacement or anything else from the menu just the salad removed because I don't trust the kitchen to not contaminate my food over a perception of me being picky or high maintenance. She snarkily replied that in 20 years of food service she has never witnessed such a thing and left the table. Making me feel like I am unreasonable for not wanting anything other than to not eat or pay for this salad is poor hospitality. Coming to our table in a huff is poor customer service. If you don't want to be kind to displeased patrons get another job, you don't belong in the...
