SIMPLY SPLENDID w/ very little lead time!!! The picture does not do this culinary creation justice but I wanted to give an example. Firstly, I was a bit desperate when I called because this place is crazy busy. However, the Moio’s staff took time to talk me though in order to give me what I was requesting ( I was kinda lost and DID NOT know what I wanted. All I knew was the theme was based on the Nintendo Switch😂) I didn’t give much lead time, which I DO NOT suggest at all. Honestly, I believe I got lucky or they heard the desperation in my voice! Even so, given a 24 hour timeframe the staff was able to customize my nephew’s cupcake- cake (the creation came completely from the artist) to the actual theme of his party!!! I was floored when I seen the cake upon arrival ( other customers were as well) … I had tears in my eyes and when I unveiled at the party my nephew’s eyes sparkled with delight. He kept opening and reopening the box! Listen- There is a hefty price tag BUT with quality, creation and superb customer service… who really cares!!! My nephew was happy and THAT HAS NO PRICE TAG!! This is not the Moio’s Bakery that it used to be, it’s HORRIBLE and I would not recommend this place to anyone. My mom’s birthday was last week and she always orders her Cakes and pastries from there as well other family members and friends, but again my sister ordered her Birthday Cake and oh my GOD was it TERRIBLE that the cake looked great from the outside but once she cut the cake it crumbled apart like it was not done or something. She called the bakery and spoke with the manager and she apologized and said that they will take of it, well they took care of it ALRIGHT! The cake that was ordered was a 9 inch and had to be refrigerated but she didn’t want the same kind of cake so she ordered basically a plain 9 inch cake. What she received was a 7 inch cake with Happy 16th Birthday now my mom is 73 years of age and was not impressed at all so she called the bakery back to speak with the manager and a man answered the phone and was very ignorant and said hold on and never picked the phone up again! Update the next morning: We had brought home a couple other items. While some were good (fresh canoli, cream puff, roman cannoli), and others were ok (key lime tart and ricotta tart), the sfogliatelle, which is why I went there in the first place because I love sfogliatelle, were rancid tasting and stale. They were completely inedible and we had to throw both of them away. Very sad because my husband and I were really looking forward to enjoying sfogliatelle with our coffee this morning. I hope this was a fluke since it was a Tuesday afternoon, we had two days of very hot weather, and these are items that are kept on the open air shelf and not the refrigerated case since they are baked. We have had sfogliatelle from all over and typically they are a favorite of ours. I understand that the texture is affected when not fresh from the oven and we are ok with that but the taste being 'off' was really disappointing. We had never been here before but everyone who works there was in a great and friendly mood, you could tell they enjoy their jobs.
