I took my 13-year-old son to his favorite dinner tonight - Endless Shrimp(at Monroeville PA), and bought movie tickets for after dinner. We didn’t think about making a reservation. We got there at 7:05 pm and were told the waiting time was about 35-45 minutes. Although we weren’t happy with that, we accepted it since it was a Friday night and didn’t want to drive around in the rain. After 45 minutes, we were the last waiting group to be seated (some people left while waiting). We saw a few empty tables around when we were led to our table, and another group came in after us and was taken to their table directly, without further waiting. My son started to have a headache while we were waiting. I thought he was hungry and tired, so I still ordered Endless Shrimp for both of us. Our waiter, Adam, let each of us pick 3 different types of shrimp. My son complained that his headache was getting worse and lost his appetite, feeling like throwing up after eating one of his 3 types of shrimp. He stopped eating and was just using his iced water glass to cool down his forehead. I asked our waiter, Adam, if it was too late to switch my son’s meal from the $25 Endless Shrimp to $20 for 3 types of shrimp. If not, no big deal. He said he would talk to his manager and see what he could do. At that point, I had already canceled our movie ticket order. I ordered another 3 types of shrimp for my Endless shrimp meal but couldn’t enjoy them since my son wasn’t feeling well. He ended up only touching less than 1/3 of his food. I finished my meal, and Adam brought us one container. He said, 'Sorry, I can’t switch it to $20 for 3 for your son. But what I can do is, I am not allowed to bring you any container. But I bought you one.' Wow! What a cold statement! A couple of minutes later, he brought a container PLUS a bag to the table next to us, who also ordered endless shrimp for their meals. What made me mad was not that he couldn’t switch my son’s meal – we did make our commitment and it is what it is. I was mad because he said he wasn’t allowed to bring us any containers, which I know it wasn’t true at all! We went to have Endless Shrimp at Red Lobster in the Monroeville location and in the Greensburg location multiple times, and every time, different servers would bring us multiple containers at the end without us asking for it. And we paid the full price for my son’s meal without ordering ENDLESS; he only ate 1/3 of his first batch! He couldn’t eat more because he was sick! We are entitled to pack his first batch of food that we paid for and didn’t order any extra! And for all the times we did order extra, no questions were ever asked, and those nice servers brought us containers! Not to mention, Adam did bring a container plus a bag to the next table, who also ordered endless shrimp! Double standard? Not being considerate for a sick child? Pretended to be helpful but actually provided us less help? I don’t know. Very...
Read moreThe only good thing about this experience was Sarah the server. She put up with everything in stride. But it was a bad experience all the way around. Our apps came out quick and good. First it took 75 mins to get our entrees. Before we got them we asked the manager what was going on as it was almost an hour and a half for our entrees and 3 othe tables had gotten thier food and they ordered after us. The manager stated right away it wasn't an hour and a half. I said ma'am we ordered at 735 and it's now 850. Really close to an hour and a half. By the way they weren't even busy. Our orders four of us
Appetizers cheesesticks- rated 8 of 10 Order 1 ultimate feast Crab legs- cold and semi raw inside Lobster tail- still raw Double coconut shrimp- burned on the outside and under done on the inside Broccoli- still hard Baked potato-room temp
Order 2 crab legs-cold and raw Add on 7 oz sirloin-cold and over done Mac and cheese (didn't taste) looked ok though
Order 3 6 oz filet ordered med rare came back med well-well and cold Mac and cheese looked ok didn't eat Baked potato room temp at best
Order 4 7 oz sirloin med well came out well and cold Baked potato cold Mac and cheese again didn't try cause nothing else was right but looked ok.
Anyhow we said something to the manager after the amount of time it was taking to get the food (first encounter). She said it didnt take that long but it did. she just seemed like she didn't care and just said it was coming (keep in mind it was extremely dead in the place). Second encounter with her was when the food came out and we said something about the food not being correct cook wise or temp wise. Like all the food was Luke warm and raw seafood and overcooked steaks.
Again she offered up no solutions. And had a little of an attitude like we were complaining just to complain.
3rd encounter was telling her that we werent going to be able to eat anything and I literally said to her that I don't think she makes a good manager. She offers no solutions and has an attitude. And again I told her. I understand that everyone has bad days once in awhile but nothing about our experience here was good and you offered up no solutions to anything just an attitude.
(This was my mom's 60th birthday dinner btw she been wanting to go for awhile). We werent the only people complaining. Anyhow she was like well what would you like to do I'm like you know what nothing I'm just going to pay tje check and we can go. Everyone else told me not to pay and the manager cleared the whole check. (I was going to pay anyway though since we ordered the food even though we didn't eat it). But she cleared the check and left the server a $50 tip and left will...
Read moreWhen we got there me and my husband ordered drinks which never seemed to come, in fact, if he didn't go to the bar and ask for our drinks 2 minutes later our meal would have showed up without them. The bartender also shake her head behind my husband's back as though he did something wrong by re-requesting our drinks.
We did not get a welcoming server who asked us how we were doing, nor did she ever check on us throughout the meal until the end of it. When we finally went to pay the check, they ran the card wrong and came back to us saying the card was declined.
We know that we just got paid that day, checked the bank account, and it had plenty of money. We also use that card for gas moments before so we knew it worked. This caused us to call the bank, the bank said the card and account were just fine and the only problem was they kept running it wrong. They tried apparently nine times according to the bank, the bank mentions they would not put in the expiration date correctly.
After holding us at the restaurant for over an hour they finally decided to take our suggestion and run the numbers for a different card manually, as long as we showed them an ID. Because of their mistake, and their lack of service or understanding of how to run a card our entire meal was spent in aggravation, stress, and for my husband embarrassment as -- as it is for many people , he feels when it looks like they can't pay for something in public and people are looking at you it is shameful.
It was miserable. We didn't get an I'm sorry, we didn't get anything taken off the bill for our time and the misunderstanding. We were pretty much treated like we were criminals, even though we did everything we were required to do. I couldn't be more aggravated or frustrated. And I will not be coming back here. I would suggest they start treating their customers as customers, and less as one of their employees.
I would like to take a moment to also mention, this isn't an Arby's. If it was a $30 meal, I would have laughed over it and went home. We spent $130, for bad service, and to be treated like criminals because they didn't know how...
