We have went here many times and yesterday was the first time we were unsatisfied with the food! Overall, the sushi and rice we ordered did not taste like we have always been ordering . The quality of the food has been degraded. The service was the best we have had but everything else we were not satisfied with. (This is 3 years ago review) ****Update**** we went here at the end of Jan 2020 for a birthday celebration. It was a quiet evening, barely anyone in the restaurant, which we liked. The service was quick this time. We ordered tons of sushi! It was great quality compared to last time. Wonder if they keep getting new chefs?? I'll have to say they have the best tasting sushi at this place. I have tried tons of other ones, keep coming back here still.

Very busy! Not following the social distancing guidelines. The restaurant was overcrowded! Service was slow. We sat at the table for about 20 minutes or so, before the server even came to take our drink orders. The hibachi chef was boring! Literally just cooked the food and dumped it on the plates. There was honestly no entertainment to it at all whatsoever! The whole experience seemed extremely rushed. I felt the staff were more concerned with a fast flip of the tables, than concentrating on the guest that were already sat and being served. The bar took a long time to make the drinks. I will say that the food was good, hot, and fresh! The prices were comparable to other Hibachi places around town. I am undecided if I will be a returning customer.

New to town and stumbled upon this hidden gem! Initially expecting a sit-down experience, I was pleasantly surprised by the inviting long bar and the lively ambiance with a football game on the big screen. The staff's friendliness and humor added a delightful touch, and their recommendation of the monster sushi roll with cream cheese was a game-changer – unexpectedly fantastic! The confidence behind the bar's suggestion won me over. The eclectic playlist, including nostalgic tunes like 'Backstreet back' by Backstreet Boys, created the perfect backdrop. The sushi was top-notch, and having my favorite sake, nigori, at the full bar sealed the deal. A solid 10 out of 10 – this place is my new go-to sushi spot!

My coworkers and I just ate at this establishment. There was five of us total. Everything was fine until we received the check. We each had $20 to spend on the company card. We went over budget so we asked if we could split the check so that we could pay $20 for each meal with the company card and make up the difference with our personal bank account cards. The waitress got who I assume is the manager. He was extremely rude to my coworker who was trying to explain why we needed the check split. He wouldn’t let her speak and kept cutting her off. He said no you’re just going to have to pay with the company card and that it wouldn’t be any cheaper if we split it. We said we understand that it wouldn’t be cheaper and had no problem paying the bill. After he refused to split the check and was walking away he screamed for us to not be so cheap and to get money in our bank accounts. At this point I said if you’re going to be rude then take the gratuity off the bill. I told him we were just trying to pay each of our portion of the meals and he didn’t understand what we were trying to explain to him. He said “no you don’t understand. You don’t understand how the world works.” I went back to the table and the girls told him how he wasn’t listening to us and was being extremely rude for no reason. He started screaming again that we needed to get money in our bank accounts and that we should have cash on us to pay the difference. As I was walking out I asked him for his name and he fired back with “what’s your name?” I asked why I would give him my name when I’m not the one working and treating people like this. He responded with “ohh yeah fix your eyebrows. Maybe you should stop drinking!” One of the girls I was with stated that I haven’t had a drink all night and that he was completely rude for no reason. As we were walking out he screamed “this is why you can’t pay your mortgage!” This was all over us wanting the check split. If they couldn’t split the payment with the company card and my personal card I would’ve been more than happy to pay for my portion of the meal with my personal bank card only. I truly am sorry to anyone who was trying to enjoy their meal and...

Turn em and burn em. It wasn't busy. Went with my best friend, when we go out we usually spend a good amount of money on 2-3 apps, a few alcoholic drinks, entrees. We hadn't even sat down and looked at a menu when we were asked "What you drink?". We felt incredibly rushed and just got ice teas. The drinks came served in plastic Pepsi cups, you'd think for a place I'm spending a minimum of $25 just for the entree could give you real glasses and not give me flashbacks to going to Pizza Hut in the 90s. Thank goodness we had looked at a menu before arriving because again we had very little time to decide. We wanted a few appetizers but the server was clearly in a hurry so we just got a roll to split. Had our salad and soup all but tossed to us but they were good, the spicy tuna roll was very good, unfortunately that was the only good food we had. The cook was clearly rushing, and trying to be funny and he just wasn't. The only seasoning was oil, margarine, and soy sauce, everything was so incredibly salty that was the only taste. The rice was hard, the noodles were mushy. The meat was ok as soy sauce soaked meat can be. My friend became immediately nauseous after a few bites and literally could not continue eating her food. I ate a bit more as I was very hungry but also got to the point were the food was just too bad to keep eating, should have sooner as I had to make a desperate dash to the bathroom. During this time we never saw a server to possibly order another app or refill our drinks which we were chugging due to the salt. When a server did come around it was to distribute take away containers that no one had asked for. And looked inconvenienced when we asked for more tea. I overheard the young couple across from us also upset over the experience. Checks were distributed that again no one had asked for. The couple left and we stayed and finished our teas even though it was very clear we were suppose to leave. At this point we had been there maybe 30 minutes. I left a 19% tip, I usually tip 20-30%, and I feel stupid for the amount I left. The leftovers are inedible. Truly disappointed. I'm willing to make allowances for pandemic issues, but this was...

This past Thursday, my wife and I had a much needed date night without our kids ... a rarity these days. As we were at Monroeville Mall and in the mood for sushi, we chose to try Saga.

We arrived around 6pm, were greeted by a very polite young man, and declined a hibachi table. He seated us in a regular booth directly across from the bar, and said our server would be there shortly. We picked out drinks we would like from the bar menu, we had settled on a full sushi meal to share, and were considering an app while we waited for our server.

We waited ... and waited ... and never saw anyone. Tem minutes passed before we got so upset we got up to walk out. There were plenty of servers about; we saw them. There were almost no customers save for a hibachi table or two and some people at the bar. Not one server said anything to us as we walked out. Nothing.

Well, our precious date night and the money we spend while on them went down the road to Mad Mex instead. We have he never been so ignored at an establishment.

We love sushi and have been looking for a new spot. And we have a few Saga locations by us in the South Hills. However this experience will make me second guess...
