I knew by the look of the place that they would have great fried zucchini which I saw on the menu. Sure enough, I got a SMALL order, mind you, not a large and I was definitely surprised at how much there was. You can see by the photos. Not only was there a large amount of zucchini but it was very long strips, longest I've ever seen. Thought it would take at least 8-10 minutes to complete the order, but got it within 5 minutes .
We also ordered chocolate shakes. The 4 of us agreed, they were wonderful! Very chocolatey, unlike fast food, which always ends up being a lot of vanilla ice cream with very little chocolate sauce. I'm sure the shake had chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce, which for a chocolate lover is heaven . Runs neck to neck with Bun N Burger's fantastic shakes. Cost slightly more but well worth it. When your shakes are heavy to carry, you can assume that they are very creamy and yummy.
Lots of variety on menu, something for everyone it seems. Any type of food, from Gyros to Shrimp Tacos, with an tasty sounding Avocado BLT thrown in (ABLT). (Having that next time I'm here♡.) We could smell the onion rings frying from outside and it was very alluring. I believe they serve breakfast all day also.
But I digress , I should say a little about the restaurant itself. KInd of vintage interior, diner from the '50s type look. Sparse decor but that lends to the look . Pretty shade of blue, which made it stand out. Very clean. You place & pick up your order at the counter, you may have to stand in line. The line moved quickly when we were there, 2 registers with staff at each. Previously with my disability, I wasn't able to sit without cushion of some sort. Seating here in both chairs & booths is hard, no cushioning, which is the only complaint I have. Decent amount of seating for its location. Located in small center with shops, they're in the corner with shared parking lot. Plenty of parking during the day when we were there. Casual, friendly, polite, both staff & other customers. I think that says a lot about a restaurant, if customers are satisfied, they are smiling & friendly, too.
That's all, kiddos, hope it was enough for you! I gotta go...
Read moreI been coming to this Arcadia location for near 40 years. I eat here often times once a week. In the last half a year tho, I don't know what's going on but they've messed up my order 3x. The previous guys that used to work here ALWAYS got my order correct. Not one single time in the last 39 years did I get a messed up order, which is an incredible track record! But in the last several months or so, 2024 and into 2025, 3 messed up orders. I'm either totally missing dressing with my salads (who eats a salad without dressing?) or missing complete orders, like a burger or a sandwich. I didn't mention anything the first couple times, because of their amazing track record, but this time around I just came back from a long business trip, and Jim's was the first thing I wanted to eat when I got home! And to my disappointment they completely forgot to give me my avocado cheeseburger. I ordered a chicken salad, zucchini, fries, and my burger on 2/28/25, order #595, costed me $34.12. When I called to let them know I was missing my burger, I gave the lady the number on my receipt, and she repeated the order so I know she confirmed my order was correct. But she didn't know how to resolve my issue and said she would call me back and never called me back. I think I'm going to stop going to this Jim's. Its unfortunate because it went from being my favorite local burger joint since I was a kid, to new workers that don't seem to care as much. I don't know if it's just the ladies that mess up the quality control, but that's what it's come down to. Really disappointed, as a...
Read moreA burger is a burger, right? Not always. Let me say that I haven’t had a burger in a few weeks and this was the first time eating my food hot right after ordering since we were able to eat outside for the first time in a while.
Anyway, the service was great from the start. The gal behind the counter noticed me taking pics of the menu and assumed I was struggling and handed me a take out menu. Was very friendly from that point on as well and great about adding condiments and napkins for our meal. I guess she knew we were in for a messy meal and of course she knew about the size of the French fries (see pic). I thought she was nuts with the number of ketchup packets but we used them all. Note: we visited on 1/26/21 around 8:30pm.
I ordered the pastrami burger, my buddy ordered a cheese burger and we split large fries (big mistake - go with regular for two people, trust me)
My burger was awesome. Juicy beef patty with nice thick pieces of lean pastrami with all the right condiments. They also use red onions which is always an upgrade. The fries were huge and tasty, but I prefer them extra crispy and will have to make that change for the next time.
Final notes - they have crushed ice! I love crushed ice and it makes drinks taste so much better. They also have carrots in their yellow chili peppers which is unique and makes me think they pickle their own chili’s. Just two more...
