While shopping at Good Fortune Market on 6th Street in Monrovia, we noticed a new Szechuan restaurant that had taken over the old Chan Kee space.
After finishing our shopping, we decided to give it a try. The interior hasn’t changed a bit—same as before. Service was pretty slow, though the staff was friendly enough. While I understand they may be experiencing growing pains from a possible grand opening or increased order volume, a 40-minute wait for two basic items is unacceptable—especially when I later found out the order hadn’t even been started.
