I recently received services from May Hsiao at Universal Funeral Chapel to help with my father’s memorial service. This was our first time going through such a process, and we had no idea what to do. May was there for us every step of the way during this difficult time.
She was incredibly professional, patient, and caring, always attentive to our needs. No matter the time—day, night, or weekends—May was always available to answer our questions and guide us through the funeral planning process. Thanks to her excellent support, everything went smoothly, just as planned, and my family was fully satisfied.
We are also deeply grateful to the makeup artist, Melinda. At the viewing, my father looked peaceful, which meant a lot to us. As per his final wish, we scattered his ashes into the sea. May also arranged this service for us and patiently explained the entire process. This past Sunday, we carried out the ceremony beautifully and peacefully.
A heartfelt thank you to May for everything she has done...
Read moreHaving to plan a funeral is one of the most difficult things anyone can go through, and I've had the unfortunate experience of doing so three times. Each time, I've relied on Universal Chung Wah Funeral Directors, and each time, they've been a source of unwavering support and professionalism. The funeral director, Steve, and the entire staff are truly exceptional. They took the stress out of an already overwhelming situation, handling the arrangements with a level of care and efficiency that was a huge relief. They are also incredibly accessible—whether by phone, email, or in person, they were always there to answer our questions and guide us through every step, making sure every detail was handled with the utmost respect. Their compassionate and helpful nature made a world of difference during a time of immense grief. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of their services. Read moreWe had an unique situation for my father’s funeral service. He passed away over 30 years ago in Taiwan and we finally had a chance early this year to bring him to rest in U.S. It’s a complicated process to legally bring human remains (ashes) from Taiwan to U.S. We were very fortunate to have May Hsiao from Universal Funeral Chapel guide us all the way from getting the legal documentation to how to properly carry my father’s ashes during the long flight to a final wonderful memorable ceremony at Rose Hills Cemetery. The whole process from planning to final ceremony took a year. And May Hsiao has been there every single step of the way when we needed help or advice. Not only her professional guidance is top of the notch, but also her warm and understanding demeanor and personality are so wonderful to ease any of our stresses we had during this long process. Our whole family can not thank enough of May Hsiao. Thank you!...
