Bareburger — Restaurant in Montclair

9/8/2024 Update: I’ll review this place with 10 stars each & every time. Managers Alex & Austin along with their crew always go above & beyond to give both dine-in & take out customers the perfect bare burger experience. The dining area & bathrooms are meticulously clean & the vibe is always relaxed & cheerful. The food is always cooked fresh. My favorites are the sunshine burger, build your own burger, brussel sprouts shareable, sweet potato fries, onion rings (no salt), the new pastrami with carmelized onions on marble rye (no sauce for me), & their sparkling Saratoga water. Bareburger is worth every penny & I love how it caters to both the carnivore & vegan palate. Keep up the great work!

3/19/24 Update: Bareburger never disappoints. The sunshine burger is my favorite along with the cob salad. Shout out to Austin, Alex, & Mikyla for anyways making great suggestions & going above & beyond in all you do. Keep up the great work!

4/23/23 Update: I just want to acknowledge again how Bare Burger Montclair never disappoints. The staff is always friendly & professional, always looking out for their customer & ensuring that we have a good dining experience. The bathrooms are always clean as well. Keep up the great work!

10/15/23 Update: Montclair has THEE best staff team. Austin, Mikaela, & the others that I speak to on the phone ALL know I’m a frequent customer & treat me like family. The orders are always on point & as I always say, cooked to perfection. Shout out to the cooks too! The cleanest restaurant on the block! Courteous staff, mindful clients, picture worthy always and the food is always beyond delicious and cooked perfectly. My favorites are the sunshine burger, brussel sprouts w/bacon, bacon cheese burger, sparkling water, Cobb salad, & chicken wings naked w/ranch. Keep up...

Tonight was not only the first time that I actually dined inside of a restaurant with my sister Gina since the end of 2019 aka once upon a time in another life before the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, but it was also the first (and will sincerely not be the last) time that I had the pleasure of dining at Bareburger in Montclair and the entire experience from start to finish was absolutely wonderful. Before I go any further, I would love to give a well-deserved shout-out to our server Jules and her colleague Olivia who were both extremely helpful, friendly, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and really enjoyable to talk with, not to mention the fact that I will be forever indebted to the both of them for recommending the sweet potato, kale and wild rice veggie burger to an old omnivore like myself who felt like having something other than the usual beef or turkey burger. I built my veggie burger from the ground up on a brioche bun topped with organic cheddar cheese, tomatoes, caramelized onions, wild mushrooms, sweet pickles and green goddess dressing and it was so luscious! My sister Gina had her signature turkey burger exactly the way that she likes it and we also ordered french fries and onion rings for the table as well and both were excellent. Such a welcoming atmosphere overall and somewhere where one can still truly find food that is top quality and obviously prepared with love and pride with the freshest of ingredients in this day and age of anger, hatred, frustration and downright indifference in a universe that has all but lost its way is not only a bonafide godsend but a mega-dose of inherently good karma as well and right now we all seriously need as much of that as we can possibly get, folks. Had dinner on Friday, May 13, 2016. A nice, hip place with a youthful vibe for all ages and families alike. The staff were friendly and attentive for the most part.

I ordered the Buckeroo burger, rings and fries, roasted brussel sprouts, sweet pickles, child's burger meal and drinks. The fries were barely warm, greasy, hard, dry and tasted like reheated leftover fries. The onion rings looked good. However, they were very greasy, coated in a thick, heavy, but crisp layer of breading that soaked up the fryer oil making it difficult to find and enjoy the flavor of the onion hidden beneath. My burger was cooked medium and tasted ok but definitely nothing to write home about and definitely not worth the price.

The brussel sprouts had a nice char and tasted fine but once again prepared with a unhealthy dousing of oil.

The child's meal was good with the exception of the French fries.

Our server removed my plate as I was tryinh to stick my fork in the last remaining brussel sprout without asking. At that time I asked for take homes boxes. After a ten minute elapse I asked another server and who promptly returned with said boxes. However he did remove the charge for the rings and fries.
