I used to like coming to this Chili's. Today 11/29/18 was my husband's birthday. We walked in and there was no host to greet us, a few seconds later a waitress passes by w/an order in hand.( Still there's no host there) and she didnt acknowledge us. I have no clue how she didnt see us it was 7 of us. So we stand there about 2 more mins or more and still no one has greeted us or acknowledged us. Finally a waitress from the bar says "hi you guys need seatin" something along those lines. I said "yes weve been waitin about 3 minutes for someone to come help us and give us a seat." Shortly a tall guy comes out dashing to us" hello sorry about that..how many 7? I said" weve been standing here for about 3 mins and not one of ur staff has greeted us not to mention the waitress who literally walked by as soon as we walked in. Unprofessional and rude also you guys are npt even busy."that was the craziest it was barely 4:50 ish and no one came in after us. The guy in the front which name i didnt get. All he could say was "sorry would you guys still like a seat. no it's my husbands bday today and he chose to eat here but the service were experiencing here is unacceptable were goin to Applebee's." Drove to applebees AND literally walked into Applebee's and in less than a min i was sitting at a table. Get wit it Chili's. Start askin people abt their customer service skills cuz that is a HUGE no no when you go somewhere to spend money and you dont get acknowledged. I don't know if it was cause we're latino or my money wasn't wanted there. Honestly but I've never experienced this anywhere. To the staff don't forget you guys are customers as well when you are dining out. Treat others with the same courtesy and be attentive. Just like you'd expect to be done for you.Cuz I'm most positive if any of those 2 waitress experienced this elsewhere they would...
Read moreI am very disappointed in the Montclair location. This has always been our favorite Chili's location. It has the best food and wonderful people working here. Over the last few months there has been a noticeable change in staff and service.
We like to visit this location almost every Friday to enjoy a delicious dinner. It has been a great way to wrap up our week. Over the last few weeks, whenever we have arrived (3:45-4:00 PM) we've had to wait to be seated. Usually it is due to shift coverage. We have been patient with waiting. Last week, this location was very busy and we had to wait almost 30 minutes to get a booth, but seating was done fairly (in order of arrival).
Today, we arrived at 3:45 PM and were told it would be a few minutes. No problem, we waited patiently,. Two other parties of 4 came in after us. We were led to our booth for 2 by the door. I asked for a larger booth. Afterall, this restaurant was not busy and there were other parties of 2 at the larger booths. We were told it would be a few minutes longer. The hostess then sat the other 2 parties ahead of us.
We were upset and began to walk out. The hostess and manager said not to leave they would have a booth soon.
This restaurant had over 7 booths available. We were deliberately placed at the bottom of the list because I refused the tiny booth by the cold door. I feel we were discriminated and being punished because we asked for a larger booth. The other parties were not sat in the empty section the hostess was trying to seat us.
We walked out with the manager and hostess still begging us to come back and promising to seat us eventually. They were argumentative with my mom and treated her unfairly.
I am so disappointed with how we were treated. We will not be returning to...
Read moreI had such a great experience at Chili’s! Our server, Jesus, was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. My mom and I hadn’t hung out in a few months, so we just wanted a quick bite, a comfortable place to sit, and time to catch up. Jesus was incredibly attentive from the moment we sat down.
He quickly picked up on the fact that we spoke Spanish, and since my mom’s first language is Spanish, she sometimes struggles with English. Without hesitation, he spoke to both of us in Spanish, making ordering so much easier. More importantly, it put my mom at ease, which meant a lot.
At one point, my mom asked for coffee, but they didn’t have any ready. Instead of just saying no, they went out of their way to brew a fresh pot just for us, which we really appreciated. Our food also came out quickly, and everything was delicious.
I’ll be honest—Chili’s has never been my first pick, but after this experience, that has definitely changed. The combination of great food and outstanding service will keep me coming back. To top it off, I forgot my glasses at the table, and as we were about to drive away, Jesus ran out to return them. That small but thoughtful gesture truly made my night.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience, and I will absolutely...
