Bliss Nail Spa — Local services in Montclair

*please don’t remove low ratings * I really wanted to love this nail salon 1) because I first discovered it on TikTok and 2) because I wanted to support the Latina women community. Unfortunately, after giving it three tries, I have to be honest about my experience.

The first time I went, Crystal did my rubber gel manicure, and she was great. The manicure did start lifting a bit after a week, but overall, I still felt good enough about it to go back. The second visit… let’s just say it wasn’t the best (that’s a story for another time). Still, I decided to give it one more chance.

On my third visit, the unprofessionalism really stood out arriving late and seeming uninterested in being there just doesn’t create a good atmosphere. While Norma did my gel manicure, she forgot to apply a second coat on my thumb, and during my pedicure, I had to ask for parts to be cleaned up. To add to the frustration, the chairs are very UNCOMFORTABLE , which makes the whole experience less relaxing.

This salon definitely has potential the idea is there, but consistency and attention to detail are lacking. At the very least, I feel like a clean, polished gel manicure should be a basic standard for any nail salon. After years of not loving how my nails turned out and honestly avoiding nail appointments unless I had to, I finally found someone who just gets it. Sara at Bliss Nail Spa is incredibly talented, professional, and detail-oriented. I go to her for structured manicures with nail art, and I've loved every set we've done so far. She makes sure my nails not only look great but she's always focused on keeping my nails healthy and strong.

When I first started seeing her, the nails on my right hand were broken and uneven. She rebuilt them with care, and now all of my nails are natural, the same length, and never break. The salon is beautiful and spotless, and Sara clearly loves what she does. She’s always up on the latest trends, happy to share tips, and has a huge selection of tools and polishes so we can explore new styles together.

Love it!!! I've been having my nails done with gel for over 20 years now, on and off to allow my nails to heal every year or so. I was looking for a new nail salon and after careful research I have decided to try out Bliss Nail Spa, and they didn't disappointed, I was very impressed. It's a quaint space, very clean, with sophisticated and simple decor. Very clean and absolutely free of chemical smells. This was my first time doing the gel mold instead of having the acrylic tip and then gel on top, and I have become a fan. I really like that the gel coat is a thin layer which give the nail a much more natural look. Sara was my nail technician and she's great, super knowledgeable and super nice.
