I've been eating at MishMish since they opened and year over year, the food has been high quality and delicious. Recently had the lamb chops which were outstanding. Their in-house made pita is divine. In the time of Covid-19 MishMish is one restaurant that appears to have truly honored safe food practices: limited number of folks in the kitchen (and restaurant in general), masks/gloves worn by staff, food pick-up at or outside the door. This seems like it would be SOP, but sadly I've been to a few restaurants that don't even have these basic procedures in place. They were one of the earliest restaurants to have timed pick-ups and offer special menus like Vegan Mondays. There are occassional order mishaps: fries that didn't come with the feta cheese as it should have, dressing wasn't included with the salad, and they changed the recipe of the shrimp "burger" which was amazing the first time I ordered it and completely different the second time I ordered it (and much less appetizing). That withstanding, they are my go-to for clean, delicious, reasonably priced food and I'm so happy they are in the...
Read moreMishMish Cafe may be the perfect restaurant. The atmosphere is elevated but not pretentious in that delicate middle ground between casual and fine dining. The staff are friendly and courteous. Most importantly, the food is outstanding. The chef balances bold flavors with subtlety, depending on the dish. Portion sizes are just right. The pricing is fair, given the quality of the food and the experience.
The menu shows great diversity without being overly busy. This is Mediterranean fare but with a modern twist. The food felt fresh and different in its details, but also comfortingly familiar in its fundamental composition.
Especially considering that MishMish is new, the restaurant in a gem. The ownership and management have made no obvious rookie mistakes. Front and back of the house, everyone on the staff appears to know what they’re doing, to communicate well with each other, and to enjoy working there. These are rare things, whether an establishment is new or not.
Given the great variety of dining options in the area, my wife and I do not often say this: we can’t...
Read moreWent to dinner last week with my boyfriend and we will not be returning. The server appeared friendly at first, but things quickly changed. My boyfriend and I blankly stared for a second and she then said, "You haven't gotten your food yet." We agreed we hadn't gotten it and then the food came out. Literally 3 bites into dinner, "Are you guys ready for the the check?" I mean I get it they were closing in a bit, but it isn't like we were taking our sweet time & there were still plenty of people in the restaurant. At this point we are getting annoyed, but like trying to be nice and tell her we just got our food. Needless to say she came back shortly and asked again. We had a rushed $70 dollar meal & quite frankly the food was good, but we felt very uncomfortable....
