Soho Pizza & Grill — Restaurant in Montclair

Food is decent - pizzas are great, I like the dough and the crust. Pastas are on the salty side.

Just a couple simple recommendations to make the experience better: add some veggie only specialty pizza options streamline your menus online. When I view your menu through google I see one thing. When I click to order for pickup, there are multiple forums through which I can place an order, however the menu options appear to be slightly different through each forum (EatStreet and Slice). They are different from one another, AND different from the menu I see through google. And the prices all seem to be different too. For example, try to order just “spaghetti and meatballs”. I could type out all the inconsistencies I found but it’s exhausting. This is immensely frustrating.

One time I was unable to customize my pizza order through the online ordering forum the way I wanted, and was confused about options available because of discrepancies between the menus, so I called up the shop and asked about options available, and was told that the restaurant could “make anything, just tell me what you want”. If only this ease and flexibility could be conveyed through the online ordering mechanism. It would be so great.

Because of my experience, I feel inclined to call in my order every time. Alas, it seems you are too busy to reliably pick up your phone. So please, streamline the menus, at the very least for...

It’s silly how this place has the lower rating it does, it’s much better than many of the other high traffic spots in downtown so I wanted to leave a review that’s actually about the food and service and not about a mistake made by Grubhub or about someone not wearing a mask 2 years ago.

First off: SERVICE IS ALWAYS AWESOME. I’ve come here a few times over the last year. Who I assume are the owners, always greet me with a smile and a thank you. They’ll call me by my name and go an extra step to make sure my order is awesome. I’ve been in the service industry my entire life and I like the vibe I get walking in here.

Next up: Portions are HUGE. Some people have complained about the price, but this is Montclair. These prices are on par with the rest of town. I get a couple pasta entrees and a side and I can feed 4 people, or myself and my son for two meals.

The Meatballs! The Meatballs are AMAZING. Get ‘em. The Spaghetti is one of my sons favorites in town. Spinach is delicious, you’ll eat it all in like 2 minutes flat.

As a loyal and long term customer at SoHo Pizza, I happened to be in the restaurant tonight and would like to state how unbelievably inaccurate the last review is @JamesRule. This young kid along with his group of friends disturbed and disrupted other customers as well as myself. And not to not pick but the kid paid $10.78 for two slices and a drink so I am unsure of how he was overcharged $11. Do the math bud!! Regardless to say the group left everything a mess chairs out of place a mess on every table including tables they were not sitting at. Upon leaving nothing was said and the young man returned moments later yelling and screaming curse words and the staff for "overcharging him" Parents if you can keep your snotty kids on a leash please do.
