My friend and I were looking to avoid a 3 hour wait at boiling crab on a Sunday night. So we decided to give Bag O’ Crab a try. And are we glad that we did because this place is an amazing alternative to Boiling Crab. First off, the sauce is better and they give you more sauce so you can dip your seafood in it. Their sauce that's equivalent to the whole-shabang is the Atomic sauce. Also, they have a grilled option for their seafood for people who want a healthier option.
Entrees:
Fried oyster with *upgraded garlic fries: The fried oysters were just ok because of the breading they used and it could have been fried a little more so that it wasn’t so runny but we did not get sick. The highlight from this dish was definitely the garlic fries (it had a good amount of garlicky flavor).
The seafood boil combo #1: We got 1lb of shrimp with (head on) and 1 lb of crawfish with potato, corn and sausages included. For the sauce we chose the atomic sauce (all the sauce combined) and for spice level we got the dynamite x (5/6) on the spicy chart.
We decided to try another pound of shrimp with on fire XX (6/6) and atomic sauce This was the spicy level we originally looked towards but didn’t know how their spice scale was.
The Highlights: We did not have to wait more than 30 minutes on a Sunday night and that's us forgetting to put our name on the yelp waitlist prior to coming. The sauce was better than boiling crab and the shrimp was cooked perfectly with no mushy weird texture like boiling crab Our server, Dillion, was amazing, frequently checked in with us and made sure to top off my drink every chance he got. They don’t play loud music like at boiling crab
Areas for improvement: They could put more tables in the restaurant but they rely on those robots to deliver entrees to the table side.
Tips: *Accepts Credit Cards *Restroom for customers. *Indoor seating only *Reservation accepted via Yelp and Waitlist *They sell wine, beer in bottles and on draft. *Same plaza as Best Buy and Albertson. *Parking lot is free and shared with other businesses *Lots of TVs...
Read moreAfter reading inconsistent reviews for a similar type restaurant in the area, I looked for an alternative and found Bag O Crab. As indicated by other Google reviewers, I had a great experience here. Ample parking on site, (not street parking) There restaurant itself was clean and neat from the front door to the restroom. There was Zero wait to be seated and our drink orders were taken right away along with garlic fries as an appetizer. The drinks came followed by the appetizer brought to our table by a service robot, which was as efficient as it was cool. Our main order came less than ten minutes later. The food was as expectded, tasty, hot and well seasoned. We had a combo #3 with king crab legs, head-on shrimp, and mini octopus which were all perfectly cooked. No complaints whatsoever about the experience and the price was fair especially compared to what some chain restaurants charge for a restaurant burger and drinks. I would not eat this every week, but will definitely go back to this place and not even consider going to similar places with like warm and...
Read moreI love this place! The staff is friendly and attentive, and the robot waiter really just brings the food to your table to assist the actual waiters with delivery. The head off shrimp are deveined and split, so it's really easy to peel the shell off. My favorite flavor so far is the Thirteen flavor under Asian Flavor. The spice level starts at medium as the minimum, so if you enjoy spicy food, I highly recommend this one. It has a combination of 5 spice and szechuan taste (Im sure there's more to it, but that's what my palette picked up) You can also add noodles to your bag which is cool, however, keep in mind what you order when adding noodles, if you do clams, mussels, crawfish, etc theres a high chance of having pieces of shell or antennae in your noodles, I recommend head off shrimp only with noodles. The micheladas were great as well and paired perfectly with our order.
This was my 2nd time here, and so far, it's easily becoming a...
