Response to owner: yes, raw pizza definitely wasn’t for us. As I stated in my previous review, We each ate a slice from the outer edge. There were 4 of us, so 4 slices went. Not 5. When you bussed our table you could see a 5th slice on a plate that was cut into, raw, and left on the plate since it was inedible. Literal dough. Why would we give you back slices and not take leftovers with us when we payed over $30 for a single pie?
We didn’t want it cooked to our “liking”. We wanted it to be cooked. In general. If that’s “how you make that pie” then I’m concerned for anyone else that wants to order it. You also didn’t address the fact that we waited 40 min for 1 pizza. Again, after waiting that amount of time, we shouldn’t have needed you to put it back in the oven and wait additional time to get something that was edible.
We stopped in to Beniamino's for the first time and after being served raw pizza, we will not be back.
The complimentary bread was great and we were off to a good start. We ended up waiting around 40 minutes for the pizza, only for it to be raw in the center. I didn't get a chance to take a photo of it after the slices were pulled apart.
We each ate a slice from the outer edges and as we got to the center, the dough was not cooked. My brother informed the waitress and she responded that they were going to put the pizza back in the oven for us. We declined. After waiting an overly long time for a single pizza and then not even being able to eat the whole pie, we needed to leave.
It also seems unsanitary to take a pizza that was out on our table that we had taken slices from and put it back in the oven.
We paid for the pizza and we left. We're not the kind of people to fight over customer service and demand a refund or refuse to pay. However, it seems like this would've been an appropriate time for the staff to offer to...
Read moreI'd just been boppin' around aimlessly, looking to maybe eat somewhere before work, when I found this place and gave it a shot. Glad I did!
I was really impressed with the specials menu...specifically their salad and ravioli options. I ordered an extremely well-portioned Spring Blueberry Salad start, which was not at all shy on the goat cheese; it was SO good. Plump blueberries joined in with candied pecans, grape tomatoes, red onion, fresh greens and a tart raspberry vinaigrette; it was a delicious and well-rounded take on typical spring salads I knew it was a dinner portion but I was still surprised and almost thought I ordered too much!
My ravioli was also a goat cheese affair as I'm clearly a sucker for it, their Homemade Goat Cheese Ravioli. The arugula and shaved parmigiano complimented sweet butter sage sauce and the goat cheese very nicely. It was very good but I may not have been able to enjoy it as much as the salad because I was getting pretty full (still finished tho, ^_~)!
Other than that, the table bread on offer was very good, and I ordered a can of San P Arranciata/Orange for a bit of fizz to drink. The service was also prompt and kind, and the price was decent enough (the salad in particular felt very reasonably-priced). I'm actually hungry rn just writing about it, but today I think I'm going to see how things fare on their takeout.
Hope you readers out there chance on in yourself and have a similarly...
Read moreI had dinner here with my family. We all ordered different pasta dishes. I loved the bread they gave us in the beginning. My mom is usually very picky with her food. They were able to accommodate her requests and were very patient and friendly. My daughter had the special spinach tortellini in heirloom sauce. My husband had the bolognese. My son asked for the spinach ravioli in vodka sauce. The meatballs were really good. I had the sausage ravioli. It was rich and tasted so good.
We went the following week for lunch to get some pizza. The slices are big. I had the veggie pizza. It was loaded with cheese and veggies. The vegetables tasted fresh and it was crispy. My kids loved the pizza. I really want to try the Benny’s Brooklyn pizza. It all looks so good. Finally, a good pizza...
