I called the store trying to determine if they had a battery backup for a garage door opener in stock. The communication over the phone was not fabulous, but I was guaranteed they had what I needed.
I brought the battery with me, went to the counter, clearly explain I just need a replacement for this battery for my garage door opener. Associate confirmed she had me covered, not to worry. She got the battery, I paid, I ran home, one side connected …. The other side wouldn’t fit. The male connector on the battery was too large for the female wire connector on the garage door opener.
I called the store again and explained the situation. I was asked for the battery info on the front of the just purchased battery. The guy said “ohhh instead of the F2, you need the F1, it’s a 50/50 chance and you got the wrong battery.” I explained I had brought the old battery in with me, so if there is a connector size, shouldn’t that have been seen with the battery in front of them? Beth rudely told it’s not a big deal, just bring it back in. No worries there’s no difference in price.
I arrived at store and asked to see my old battery. They pulled out out. Apparently it’s an old style they no longer make with 1 large connector and 1 small connector, but that means you have to use the 2 small connector replacement. I was still given quite a bit of attitude and brushed off like it’s not a big deal. I suggested perhaps this is a learning lesson to use for future customers, because it is quite an inconvenience especially when I went to them as SMEs clearly saying I didn’t know what I needed and asking for their assistance. Are you ready for this… I got an EYEROLL in return.
I will NEVER go back here. And I will tell everyone my experience. All they needed to do was admit to their mistake and be kind and this would not have resulted in a review posted. We all make mistakes. But the attitude and brush off … that’s...
Read moreI went there looking for a lawnmower battery. I brought the old battery with me, and showed it to an associate. She said, “Sure, we have that. It’s right here.” I was ready to make my purchase, but I suddenly noticed that it was NOT the same thing. I pointed this out, but she argued that it WAS the same thing. A colleague joined in to assure me it will work just fine. I didn’t urgently need to get the lawnmower running (I have a back-up), so I walked out empty-handed.
A few days later, I went to another battery store, again with my old battery in hand, and asked the same question. The associate said they don’t have exactly the same thing, but that they do have two similar batteries that I could choose from that should work fine, although he could not guarantee that. I thanked him for his honesty, and left without purchasing either battery.
I went home and searched on the internet for the battery. Maybe it is indeed unusual and hard to find, but I did find EXACTLY the battery I wanted. I’m not going to name either the second battery place I went to or the online retailer from which I ultimately purchased my battery. I don’t want to be accused of being a plant for either of them; and more importantly, it’s irrelevant to my review.
I’m no electrical engineer, so maybe any of the batteries offered before my purchase would have worked just fine. But that’s not my point. On what planet does it make good business sense to argue with a customer about what they want? Or “pull rank” on the customer and say effectively, “I’ve been working here for four years so I must know what I’m talking about, and you don’t.” What if I actually did have a Ph.D. in battery science? Would you still be insulting my intelligence?
So, I’m never entering this place again, even if they might actually have a battery I want. I’m quite certain I can find it elsewhere without the nonsense...
Read moreTERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I would suggest to not go to this business. This will be a long review but it is totally worth reading. I went here last year in June to repair the broken screen on my iPhone 5s. The main reason I picked this place was because they offered a 6 month warranty and it was a national chain. It took them about 4 hours to repair my phone for $105. When I came back home I started having issues with the screen. The brightness was not the same, and the phone had a glitch. When I scrolled up and down it would get stuck and not move. Sometimes I would go on my text messages and it would not type the letters I was pressing on the keyboard, the camera would freeze and not take photos, the screen would freeze once in a while and I had to give it some time to come back to normal, etc. I took it back and they claim "I was using the cell phone too fast and that's not how phones should be used". Even with my screen broken before I took it here I did not have ANY issues using it.
I was only in PA for a couple of months for an out of state consulting job. When I came back to FL, I took my phone to another place and they told me at this new place that my phone had been damaged in the process of repairing the screen. Either because they did not use the right equipment or because they did not install the screen the right way. I had to pay an extra $100 to have it repaired down here. The place in FL had SUCH AMAZING customer service that they even told me if they could not get it back to normal, they were not going to charge anything. When I got my phone back it worked PERFECT! I tried to dispute it with Batteries+Bulbs but they would not give me my money back, in addition to having MEAN customer service.
They did not abide by the promise of 6 month warranty and had TERRIBLE...
