American Deli — Restaurant in Montgomery

On Sunday afternoon at 12:34 pm, we stopped at the American Deli located at 7810 Vaughn Road in Montgomery Alabama and had an interaction with a cashier who told us her name was Lemetria. She is one of the rudest and most unpleasant young ladies I have ever met. The bad service began almost immediately when without a greeting or a smile, she demanded to know whether we were paying with cash or a card. I started my order and inquired whether I could replace the fries with a salad. While she responded with “no, you can’t substitute”, the tone used was dismissive and almost as though I got on her nerves just for asking. There was no smile, no options, no I’m sorry but, no service. I asked her whether I could simply pay for it and repeated that I would need to pay for it. She then responded the remainder of my questions with one word answers, without looking at me, and with a sarcastic tone of voice and a bad attitude. We ordered three drinks and I extended my hands to take the cups which she ignored. Yet again there was no smile, no explanation, and no service. After about a minute standing there with her not handing me the cups, I spoke up and said I would take the cups but she refused to give me the cups because even though my husband was handing her the card, she had not yet taken it. Even when asked for the manager, she responded that he is not here and continued to finish the sale. When we asked for the managers number she gave us the number to the store whereby she answered the phone when we called. We spent close to 45.00 in there only because we were on our way back to Valdosta and pressed for time. I will NEVER spend another dime in American Deli and would strongly encourage customer service training for your employees but especially Lemetria. There are a good number of eateries in Montgomery that are less expensive and where people treat their customers like...

By FAR, the WORST take out I have ever gotten. Ordered the grilled chicken salad. I seriously couldn't tell what the meat was. It was a brown, SUPER GREASY, gristley blob and chopped like a philly steak with small bone fragments in it. On top of it they put pickles in my salad. No where does it say pickles are a part of the salad. I took it back thinking I got the wrong order and they put philly steak on it not chicken. I also said no cucumbers but. of course those were in the salad. The 2nd one was just as bad if not worse than the first one. This time they also forgot to put green peppers and banana peppers on it & this one also had pickles in it. (Menu says tomato, onions, green peppers, cucumbers, and banana peppers.) Both ended in the trash as I was so grossed out by this meat that I would rather be hungry than eat this mystery meat. It was worse chicken than at the cheapest Chinese restaurant you've ever been too. I did order this salad one time before at the location on Eastern Blvd. and it was fine. Horrible customer service this evening at 705pm after calling in an order over the phone. Waited 30 minutes and people that placed order inside store were in and out. The cashier was very rude to me as a customer and when asked to speak to manager she said “you want to wait on him?” Cashier also observed yelling at the cooks on back line.! I told her she didn’t display good customer at all and I was called a lil girl and told I better get out of the store. Will never go this location ever again. I will speak to manager because this employee is not fit to be in customer service/food industry. It’s very clear she doesn’t want to work and she even stated multiple times that she did not need the job. If stress of the business is going to overwhelm her and make her that upset to where she is rude to paying customers then she clearly does not...
