Chappy's Deli - Peppertree — Restaurant in Montgomery

Grew up in Montgomery and have always loved this place, as does anyone who goes there. Having moved back to Atlanta a few years ago, I was super excited to go back on a recent family visit, and enjoy my fave- the veggie burger and fries. My daughter and I specifically planned our journey to include stopping there when we hit town that Saturday night 2 weeks ago. Where do I begin?... There were like 5-6 people at the front desk, which was a little confusing in itself. They seemed to be way overstaffed. But they were all as nice as they could be. But nice cannot make up for mistake-upon-mistake. First, I placed the order to include no condiments, and extra lettuce & tomatoes. I mentioned it again as several girls were discussing the order, and even saw one go up to the window and verbally repeat that to the cooks. Also asked it be cooked well. Second, I had told them we'd be eating outside bc I had my puppy with me...a little bit later, I asked for something to clean the table off with. It took a long time for the order to arrive (it was only 2 simple items), but they brought it in sacks, not having remembered or registered the fact that we were eating outside. Which caused the fries to steam inside and get soggy.... they had to go back in and put the orders on plates. And when mine came out-zero lettuce or tomato, and not well-done. There really was no excuse for any of that to happen: listening and paying attention to details, and follow through are key in customer service positions. They were all SO friendly, and nice, it makes this difficult to submit. But I feel management needs to know. I don't think anyone in charge was there that night. Just overall not my best experience...

Food is usually always fantastic, and always offers a unique flavor among other spots in town, but tonight I called an order in 17 minutes before I got there. Well the result when i got there was i still didn't have food there ready for me even though i was told 10-15 which isnt the end of the world, but i watched as the cashier after I had arrived took another employees order and her food was magically ready before mine was. After she had only waited 7 minutes. My total order time was 28 minutes. Not happy about this at all. Your paying customers who place there order first should obviously be first priority. I will not continue to spend money here as long as they fail to put the customer first. Not to mention the cashier said nothing to me when i was handed my food. I swear eating in Montgomery becomes more, and more of a headache everyday. Very low quality customer service! 2 stars only because the food was great as usual, will make it 5 when Chappy’s learns how communicate with their customer, and treat them them with respect along with prioritizing orders. UPDATE: I have been back, and two times in a row the BUFFALO CITY wrap was TRASH literally chunks of batter (super dried up chicken) with a smudge of buffalo sauce on both me and my wife's wraps. To top that we were given one ranch to dip both wraps, a order of onion rings, and sweet potato fries! No more second chances Chappy’s yall have lost whatever touch you...

First visit was a less than desirable experience. Came in at 2pm for a late lunch. We were sat in the back corner and it took over 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by another waitress who had to track ours down. Once she came over, we asked how her day was going. She complained about her section. Ok, everyone has bad days. We ordered our drinks and meal since we had enough time to decide. Drinks came out wrong. We didn’t say anything. Soup was ok, crackers were stale though. One sandwich came out right, the other didn’t. Came back with the right sandwich, but on the wrong bread that I originally ordered. I said something but told her to leave it. I don’t particularly like the bread it was served on. I was just going to eat the meat, but we had no utensils. Kitchen staff came out and asked if he could make me the right sandwich. I told him that would be wonderful. Correct sandwich was pretty good. Husbands drink was never refilled and empty most of our meal because we never saw our waitress again until she brought us the bill. Overall a horrible experience which is sad because this place is so close...
