So I want to forst off start by saying that I understand that it's Christmas so it was going to be crazy. When we walked in, we were greeted (kind of) by the hostess, who asked "how many?" I said two. I kind of expected her to ask for a name or something like that because there were quite a few waiting already, but she didn't she just said "I'll seat you as soon as I can." Me and my girlfriend went and sat down and waited, I got up a few minutes later to go get a menu to look at while we waited it looked busy and servers seemed stretched thin. The hostess wasn't up there this time, so I waited, finally approached by a man in a collared shirt, I assume this was the manager, he walked over to the host stand and the hostess came around the corner and he said, she'll get you a menu, after he told her "hey he needs a menu".
We were seated a few minutes later after being asked by the same hostess if we were making a Togo order, and we said no. So we were seated and greeted a few minutes later, (server was actually very pleasant despite the pace of service). She took our food and drink orders at the same time but again I get it. It's busy. Well we waited quite a few minutes for our waters and one coffee. Meanwhile (the main reason I have written this review) the same manager I mentioned earlier was standing there just leaning against a wall talking to someone. Being a restaurant manager, this infuriated me. His servers are obviously struggling and he won't help any of them. Nor the hostess who was running back and forth. Meal was great, so I don't want to talk about that.
My problem with this particular Ihop has been the management. Or lack there of. I also understand it's a casual dining place but health code, and standard hygiene seem to be missing as well. Most servers had dirty aprons , wrinkly and unkept shirts and long hair that wasn't restrained. I also noticed a bus boy wandering/ pacing the dining room with headphones in. It was just kind of awkward.
Anyways my final comment is as I was leaving I went to the bathroom, the manager I mentioned earlier was standing in front of it on his phone (which he's been on for the past 10-15 minutes infront of customers). I went into the bathroom and there was no toilet paper in my stall. No paper towels in the whole bathroom and the soap was on the countertop not even in dispensers.
Overall just a lackluster management...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis restaurant doesn't deserve anything above a negative status, which should be an option. It was one of the worst dining experiences we've had, in quite a while. Arriving between10am, after the breakfast rush, but well before lunch crush (on a weekday), it seemed a good time to try it out after not eaten there in several years. From sitting down at the table, ordering our food (ham & egg combo for my husband & omelette & crepes for me, not a particularly complicated order). Over the next 45 minutes, we were served a total of two carafes of coffee, which I had to ask for, while the waitress seemed nice, she was not particularly attentive. After 20 plus minutes, watching people, that ordered after us, receive their meals, I asked to speak with the manager. He didn't respond to that request, nor were we given an explanation as to the delay of his arrival. After 28 minutes, our waitress let us know that our food was being prepared & would soon be arriving. After nearly 45 minutes from when we first sat down & the ordering process began, we received our food, most of it cold or rapidly cooling. Again, I requested to speak with the manager. This time, he eventually arrived. From his attire & disgruntled attitude, I would have never guessed he was the manager. I also was unable to locate any badge indicating his name & title. We were not, as you can probably guess, greeted warmly. As a matter of fact, we were not really greeted, by anything more than something similar to "... what's the problem...?" It went down from there... He disagreed with everything from the length of time for the food preparation, the time of presentation of the food & finally the cold food & the rapidly cooling omlette, the one thing that had truely came very warm (not hot, but much warmer than anything else) to the table. After realizing that we were not going to be receiving an apology or anything else, when asked what we wanted done, we chose to leave the food on the table, as it was & didn't offer to pay for the coffee, which I would have ordinarily done, but his entire demeanor was irritating. If you go to this "restaurant", go with very, very low expectations, that way when they are not met, you don't feel so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNormally I don't have a bad experience at many of these IHOP restaurants but I had to write about my one hour visit here at this location. Not sure if my experience was attributed to a long weekend and the after affects that some waitresses or waiters may have had, but upon entering the booth to be seated there were long strands of hair all over the place and liquid on the seats. I wiped that down and thought nothing of it but something always tells me that if I find one thing then something else is bound to happen. We were given our drinks and menus and waited patiently. Twenty minutes in, we stopped a waitress as she seemed to be the only one working the entire restaurant and ask if we can order. She takes our order and the time starts. Another 20 minutes and we see the restaurant emptying out but we still haven't received the food that we ordered. Almost 50 minutes in the restaurant and we finally get most of our food, but half of the food that was ordered was not what we received and I had to continue to stop the waitress to ask about the rest of the order for which she replied twice, "sorry, I forgot" within a five minute span. I understand how busy things get when people call out and there is one person left to do a majority of the work. We ate the hot pancakes and left a message on the ticket. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant due to the cleanliness overall. The food was cold except for the pancakes. The order was half wrong. Maybe it was just a bad day, but I...
