It was nine already and I was looking for some place to get a quick dinner before I headed out on a four hour drive to Tallahassee. Most of the restaurants appeared to be closed on google maps. This was one of the few that appeared to be open. Walked into the restaurant with not so high expectations but I was in for a pleasant surprise. The restaurant is easy to miss as it is tucked away inside the alley, hence the name I guess.
The ambience is pretty much what you would see in a Mexican restaurant, with open tables and booths. The menu has a good mix of Mexican foods and drinks. Before long I had a basket of nachos and salsa. Thr chips were really fresh and tasted great. I liked the salsa, too. It was fresh in taste, too. I ordered a Pollo Asado. And it didn't take long for it to show up on my table. So, the grilled chicken breast was served on the cast iron skillet on a bed of grilled bell peppers and onions and oh boy there delicious. I am not a big fan of bell peppers but I absolutely loved them here. The onions were caramelized to perfection, just the way I preferred. It was as if the chef knew my taste. And the chicken, wow!!! It was juicy and grilled to perfection. The spice blend was just amazing and was not overpowering. I loved it. The chicken was accompanied by rice and beans with cheese and tortillas. It was great. I absolutely loved it.
The restaurant was an amazing find for me and I will definitely return when I am in Montgomery. Would love to try other items on the menu The servers are friendly, too. Highly...
Read moreFirst off, I was starving which is what drove me into this place. I was seated fairly promptly and handed a menu. I was given about 10 seconds before someone was there to take my drink order (seems all well and good). Drink came quickly and then I ordered my food with a rather abrupt waiter. My food was eventually delivered to the table next to me. Thankfully, the gentleman at the table next to me was kind enough to hand it over. The plate was very hot but the food was nearly room temp. I ordered the Texas fajita plate that comes with a sizable amount of meat and onions/peppers but I was given a mere 3 tortillas. They were also cold. I was not given my guacamole and sour cream. When the waiter finally came to check on me, once I was nearly finished, I informed him of the fact that I was missing items that I had ordered and he actually asked me if I still wanted them. The thought in my head was "Gee, do I want the things that I ordered?" Once he brought them to me and I was able to taste the guac, I realized that I was, in fact, not missing out on anything. Worst guac ever! I felt abandoned by my waiter (assuming because I was dining alone and the ticket wouldn't amount to much of a tip). Food was seriously sub-par. I should have known since I couldn't smell the aroma of fajitas pouring of the place that it wasn't going to meet my standards of Mexican cuisine. Very...
Read moreHAHA let's get to work shall we. Ok So casual day after work A couple of Friends and I went here. As usual you all know I love food especially down town food but jalapeno wasn't jalapenoing. I ordered the 3 Taco's maybe I just over estimated them. Because they are in downtown Montgomery. But back to the three tacos I got my food when I got my food I had nothing but meat and lettuce and then it was $12 with the water my friends however one of them they tried to overcharge her and the food wasn't that great I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants but this one is a hell no. They couldn't get the order right for nothing. I mean when I saw were only three tables of people there. I knew then this was a bad idea. I mean it was low quality food and the service was horrible. This is definitely not a go back to. This was probably the worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant where I only get meat and lettuce no cheese no tomatoes where the real Taco's at? It's a shame I had to go to McDonald's after leaving here. And yes that was the show how bad it was. Never trying again. They should be ashamed of themselves for even being downtown that wasn't even downtown quality food that was Montgomery public School lunch Sighed the Cop. Since that's what...
