My daughter went in and picked out a sectional and recliner on 05.26.2025. Alaiia rang us up she was very nice and professional. We asked about delivery and she said that it could be delivered on Friday 05.30.2025. We asked if it could be delivered on Saturday instead and she said that the don't do deliveries on Saturday. We asked if she could give us a time frame on when it would be delivered on Friday and she said that it would be before 4pm. So today, the delivery day, my daughter called them 7 times between 11:04am and 12:34pm. The finally answered on the 7th time. She asked the guy that answered the phone if he knew when her items would be delivered and he said that they were still loading the truck, but the deliveries would be going out about 2pm. When they still weren't there at 4:24pm I called about the delivery. The young lady who answered the phone, she sounded like the same girl who helped us on the 26th, said that they forgot to put our stuff on the truck and that we would get it tomorrow. I ask if we were getting a refund on the delivery fee since it wasn't delivered when they said it would be. She said that wasn't up to her and she would have to let me talk to her manager. I want to say again she was very nice, polite, and professional even though I was upset. If this review was based exclusively on her service it would be a 5 star review, however this review is solely based on the attitude of the manager that I spoke to next. I was upset, we made plans around the furniture being delivered today. We have friends coming to help with our move in, that are supposed to sleep on this furniture. We also have plans tomorrow with the kids, so we can not sit and wait for the furniture to be delivered. When I explained this to the manager I requested a refund of the delivery fee because now we have to go buy air mattresses. I also requested the furniture be delivered by 10am tomorrow so we could still make the plans we had with the kids. The manager rudely stated that I was talking over her and making demands and she doesn't respond to demands. I didn't see these as demands, I see these requests as expectations because of their mistake. She also said we can just come back and she will refund the whole thing and not give us the furniture. Mind you there is a minimum 15% restocking fee charged so we would have been out of pocket for that. Instead of trying to de-escalate the situation she responded with rudeness and threats. She finally reluctantly went and asked her delivery drivers to stay late to deliver the furniture. The drivers were also very nice, polite, and professional. The only rude person that I delt with was the manager, the one person who should know how to treat a customer, the one person who should know how to de-escalate a situation and make things right. Read moreI recently moved here to Montgomery from Texas. I had to buy furniture because I didn’t have much. I bought myself a bedroom set from here. Being that I’m living here alone (no friends or family), I decided to buy my stuff online and I paid for delivery. After I ordered, I get a follow-up call from the store asking if I forgot any items. I didn’t forget any items, but they were checking because my order was missing a footboard, mirror, and a box spring. That was intentional, since I didn’t want those items. On delivery day, I get the delivery guys bring my stuff. They forgot the bed frame. They said they would come back and bring it. I didn’t think much of it, as mistakes happen. Well, the guys never came back. The next day I start opening the things. Everything came in boxes, which was convenient because I figured the furniture would be well taken care of and brand new. Again, I live by myself. Since the night stand, chest, and dresser were all in boxes, I just cut the boxes open. There was no way I could open a box and take the furniture out on my own. Well, the night stand and chest were in perfect condition. The dresser, on the other hand, was damaged. I called Montgomery Overstock to let them know that I didn’t have my bed frame and that the dresser was damaged. The delivery guy stops by and drops off the bed frame. He examined the dresser and said that he can either fix it or have it replaced. Normally I wouldn’t want a damaged dresser, but it didn’t seem too bad, so I said I’d be content with either option. Well, the delivery guy never came back to fix or replace my dresser. I called Montgomery Overstock again and spoke to the manager. The manager said that it’s not their fault and that I had to fix it with the third party delivery services, since there is nothing they can do. I was a little speechless, since I ordered from their store and the third party delivery service is their employee. I kept on trying to resolve but the manager would place me on hold and never come back. I actually stayed on the phone for 30 minutes once when she placed me on hold. Nevertheless, it’s been two weeks and nothing was resolved. I will never again buy anything from this store. I don’t think I’ll mind paying a little extra to get better customer service....
Read moreI went into Montgomery OverStock with the intention of buying a bedroom set. I know what I wanted..I just needed to see the wood and make sure the price was the same as the ad. Quinton, the manager approached me and asked if he could assist me. I informed him of my needs. He walked with me and stated to look over the bedroom set and he would return....he never returned. I walked to the front of the warehouse and, it was an upset customer speaking with on of the associates. She was upset because she paid for a Uhaul to pick up her Living Room Set , once she got home to unwrap it, she notice that it wasn't the one she purchased. The associate proceed to say that everyone makes mistakes (which is so true) and it would be $50 to pick up and bring out the correct one. The upset customer wanted to know why they were charging her, when they are the one who made the error. The associate stated again...Everyone makes mistakes. After the back and forth of horrible unfair customer service.. the upset guest asked to speak with someone else..The associate said sure, you can speak to Quinton (who was stand there all along) Quinton asked..how may I help you, as if he hadn't heard the problem. She proceeded to tell her story AGAIN. Quinton asked, What can you afford to pay for delivery. The guest stated $30. Quinton asked, can you do $40? She stated yea, just get me my furniture. He worked it out to delivery the correct Living Room Set, that they made the error on for $40. The guest left the store upset. He proceeded to help me and I stated that I was scared to get anything because of how that situation was handled. He stated..Oh it was just a mistake. I stated to him, and Very bad customer service. .that was OverStock error so why not correct it for free..but hey, that none of my business. He than asked.. Well why are you talking about it. I stated to him because this is a free country...Right he didn't answer, So I asked again? He looked and me like I was crazy. I asked him for my total. I than asked for my delivery fee...my fee was $70. I came to that conclusion that I will not give my money to a company with this kind of Customer Service.
