Two stars for cleanliness. Hands down very clean venue.
Overpriced for XRated Magic Show. He was not funny. Stood around with a blow up doll and things got dull in the first 5 minutes for the hour show. Paid $120 for tickets, $16 parking and $50 for two adult drinks ($20/drink). We gambled on the show but the other prices were a tad much. Many people walking out were unimpressed. Please do better in your shows, especially in the comedy venues.
Seats were just OK. Absolutely not handicap friendly on parking. Needed signage for the venue. Also, for those that need to know... Make sure you do not have any weapon on you to include a pocket knife or you'll have to go all the way back to your car and it's not in a good area of town.
For the money we should have waited for a tried and true comedy act vs this guy. He was not the most pleasant after the show as I saw people wanting pictures with him and he was a tad jaded after a few people.
We may attend another show but will be a concert and not a MPAC thought...
Read moreLast night we went to MPAC to see Chicago in concert. What an awesome show they put on. Second time we have seen them there and they certainly did not disappoint. The issue I had was from the inconsiderate people who do not know how to show up on time. For the first 30 minutes or so you had a steady stream of people coming in who needed help finding their seats because it was dark in there. The usher had them standing in front of the people that were already seated. (People who were there on time.) Therefore we could not see anything. Very irritating. Then you have the drunk people who think they are the performers. I didn't pay to hear you sing or see you staggering everywhere thinking your cute. One of them sat behind us and he hit me in the head with his walking cane. Enough of that. Chicago also put on an awesome light show. The music was great and they sang a lot of their big hits. For the show I...
Read moreSo after seeing the high prices for the new Coca Cola Amphitheatre in Birmingham and lack of parking.... I decided to try out the Montgomery Perf Art Center. My friends were skeptical. But, oh my my, this was the BEST decision! 1. Drive past the MPA Center Main Entrance and circle the block. Park in Renaissance Parking Deck. Take elevator to lobby. Walk from lobby straight into the MPA Center. Once you're in, there are multiple concessions with table & chair options for chillin' pre or post event. Hall was great, sound quality was excellent with the padded walls. Having a row of restaurants/bars with optional outdoor seating was the cherry on top. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and make this your next venue. The drive was so easy with 3 turns total from i65 to the venue and zippy do da parking that we all felt like it was faster than going...
