More food options needs to be available for the included ‘FREE breakfast’. After 3 of 4 mornings of visiting & eating at the breakfast bar, some of the items were either NOT available or depleted & NOT replenished (bread, bagels, muffins, butter, cereal, milk, fresh fruit, coffee, etc.) for guest, including the influx of military personnel.
I observed the staff on duty and the available food options each day. It seems as if the food options that required the minimum amount of prep time was put out for selection, even after visually seeing the supplier come in with stock items. Also, from the available selections, the cold items, such as the mixed fruit (honeydew, pineapples, grapes) was NOT fresh. Cold food items such as the fresh cut strawberries were not replenished as the container(s) were emptied when there was still well over an hour left for the bar to be available for guest. ️️
My experience during my stay, is that it appears that items from the previous day, such as the butter squares/tubs, fresh cut fruit, etc. were NOT restocked to begin the next day to make items optional for guest to select. I asked for butter & was told that they were out and had to wait on the delivery truck. But soon after, the kitchen staff returned with a box of the Smart Balance butter tubs and handed me some. This shouldn’t be the case for any guest to have to ask for any item that is in stock for the breakfast bar but NOT available as an option, especially when you’re sitting there observing the guest traffic at the bar and staff seem to have no interest in checking stock or has prepped additional items to replenish the bar options. Also, cups of Chobani yogurt was available but there was also something white in one of the containers on the cold bar with no name. Didn’t know if this was sour cream or yogurt. Bacon was available the first morning of my stay. After it was depleted it was replaced with sausage, along side a sausage that was in the pan beside it. Guest were questioning other guest about which was which. One of the kitchen staff came out while they were standing wondering which sausage to select and asked what type sausage each was. The third morning of eating at the bar, that included sausage options again, I notice the kitchen staff brought out standing labeling for the sausages.
However, during my third visit to the breakfast bar, I did notice that there was 1 of 3 kitchen staffer (petite guy) that was replenishing/refilling a few bar items that were either low or completely out.
As a repeated guest that would recommend this IHG location, I would suggest improvements be made to the breakfast bar options made available to your guest. Also, having multiple kitchen staffers on duty, items for the breakfast bar SHOULD be prepped/prepared to begin each day according to the number of guest.

Read moreThis review is a little late, but life has been lifing. I wanted to come on here and highly recommend that you stay at the Staybridge Suites in Downtown Montgomery, if you find yourself traveling to this city. I was in Montgomery in July for my family reunion. From the moment I hit the door I was greeted and treated with sincere kindness. I arrived very early as I had an early flight. I knew I would not be able to check into a room at that hour, but I figured, I’d at least be able to find a bite to eat and leave my suitcase in the capable hands of the hotel staff. Simone was more than accommodating. She held my suitcase behind the desk and pointed me in the direction of the Waffle House where I could get breakfast. Before leaving I asked if there was any chance of me getting a earlier than the normal check-in time of 3/4pm in the afternoon. Mind you it was all of 9:30am sigh Simone told me she would see what she could do, but there was a major Gospel workshop happening that week and they were booked solid. I said ok and was on my way. Fast forward to my return to the hotel, about 12ish or so. I had it in my mind that I was going to make the best of it sitting in the hotel lobby and wait until a room became available later that afternoon. God is good, I had the pleasure of meeting the hotel manager, Ms. Sarita and after chatting in the lobby for a bit and just before getting into the tasks of her day, she was made aware of the long wait ahead of me for a room. Ms. Sarita was kind enough to find me a room much sooner than I expected. I am happy to say I was in a room by 1:30pm instead of the 3/4pm timeframe I originally thought I would have to wait to get into a room. Boy, was I happy, because I was beyond exhausted and wanted to take a nap! The family members that later came and stayed at the hotel, all shared the same sentiment, we were given EXCELLENT customer service. This is so important especially when it feels like customer service has fallen by the wayside. Thank you again to Ms. Sarita, and her staff. Special shout out to Kim, Simone, Ms. T and Christy. I will definitely be back to stay when I’m in...

Room Cleanliness = Pretty good, except for the floors in the kitchen that turned the soles of your feet black. Mopping every once in a while is a good thing.
Dishwasher did not dry dishes, even with the high-heat dry selected. Every wash came with wet dishes and silverware.
All utensils and silverware had rust. Disgusting.
All knives were unsecured. No knife blocks. Just a collection of non-matching knives thrown in a drawer.
Five bottle openers, four of them rusted.
No real sets of silverware ... three butter knives, three spoons, two forks. We were staying in the two-bedroom suite. That's not enough sets of silverware. They were rusty anyhow, so we bought plastic flatware from Walmart.
Some utensils were broken. The lack of matching utensils made me imagine a hotel employee visiting a local donation store to purchase utensils and silverware.
Hotel pool, fitness room, and laundry room are top notch.
Hotel breakfast is very poor. Hotel blames COVID, but I don't think that is a good reason. A few days later, we stayed at another Staybridge Suites in Morrisville, NC. There, they had hot breakfast ... omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc. Too bad the Staybridge Suites in Montgomery didn't do the same during our stay.
On our last night, the guests in the room above us threw a party that went on past midnight. Loud rap music, loud laughing, what sounded like jumping and running. They were having a great time. I called the front desk at 10:30pm or so, well past the posted quiet hours. Front desk told me it would be taken care of. As the party continued, I went downstairs to ask the hotel front desk employee about the party. She kinda brushed me off with, "The LP (security folks?) will stop by in a little bit." The party continued above my room where my family was trying to sleep before a long drive the next day.
This hotel has a lot of potential for its location. There are some bright members of its staff, too. I just feel like the management does not take its customers seriously. They need to try...
