San Marcos — Restaurant in Montgomery

Very disappointed, my family has been eating here for 15+ years, it’s always been very satisfying the food was always delicious and large portions. We ate there tonight and the first thing we noticed was that there were only about twenty people in there and usually on a Friday night it’s packed. Then when we got our food even the kids noticed that there was a lot less food on the plates. But after we started eating it didn’t matter that much anyway, the food wasn’t flavorful at all Very bland and I even put extra salt and pepper plus hot sauce on mine and it didn’t really help the taste. No one finished what was on our plates and for the first time none of us carried the leftovers home, my son in law even said he didn’t think there dogs would even enjoy it. I’m wondering if they have changed ownership? It had been about three months since we had eaten there so not really sure what the deal was but might not be back, hate to say it but Taco Bell was a better value and a lot more tasty and...

I’ve always ate here it’s my favorite spot but after today never again! My wife ordered shrimp nachos and I ordered grilled chicken quesadilla. The waiter was already talking too much to other employees so that was a red flag I ignored. He brought the food my wife order was correct but he gave me a shrimp quesadilla instead of chicken so I sent it back, then he comes out with shredded chicken and cheese quesadilla…still not what I ordered! I ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla it comes with bell peppers onions and tomatoes…i sent it back again! Then I guess the manager comes out after the 3rd time of the order being incorrect, asks me what’s the problem, I tell him and he tells me he will not cook my order again because I may not like it…first off I didn’t even touch the food, I had a taste for grilled chicken quesadilla but they failed me 3 times , that was so rude and dissatisfying! Wonderful as always. I've been getting mine to go so I don't have to be seen eating alone. My husband & I have been going to San Marcos for decades & I don't recall ever having a bad experience. I have had some little problems with my to go orders missing sour cream or guacamole things like that & rarely but it does happen that they didn't take note of my request for no jalapenos or anything spicy/hot to be put on the side. You get a lot of food & prices aren't bad either. They've always been friendly, polite, helpful & given wonderful service. It's our family place to gather when they come to Montg. We use to meet a group of friends every other week & the kids loved it too. My husband of 33yrs absolutely love to eat there. He would eat pico/salsa, jalapenos while sweat rolled down his face. It's more than just a Mexican restaurant to me & my family its a place that brings back so many treasured memories that we made...
