We absolutely love this place Before today, we had never even heard of Yokai. We stopped on our way to Origin Game Convention from NY to grab a drink from Starbucks, and the smell grabbed us from outside. We meandered in just to satisfy our curiosity and end up satiated our craving for some great food. I didn't even realize I was hungry!
The restaurant boast a great selection of fresh and varied ingredients, the portion was generous, the staff was fabulous, courteous, and patient as we made our choices from the multitude of fresh veggies and freshly prepared seafood. The place is super clean, both the seating area and the serving bar.
Service received 4 stars due to the difficulty I had cashing out; the internet was down, and it took 4 tries before I could pay for my food. The young lady helping me was apologetic and told me to report it should I be charged more than once...I really appreciate that!
We discard our original plan for some mango passion fruit bubble tea, the refreshing ending to a fantastic and...
Read moreI recently visited Yokai and had an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, the cozy ambiance and friendly staff made me feel right at home.
The ramen was nothing short of amazing. I ordered the Tonkotsu Rame, and it was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The broth was savory and aromatic, the noodles had the perfect chew, and the toppings (like the tender chashu pork and marinated egg) were spot-on. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into every bowl.
To top it off, I tried their boba tea, and it was fantastic! I went with the black mango fruit tea and Classic Milk Tea with Tapioca Pearl and it was creamy, sweet, and refreshing. The boba pearls were soft and chewy, just the way I like them.
What really stood out to me was the attention to detail in both the food and the service. The staff was attentive and made great recommendations, and the entire meal felt like a treat.
If you’re craving delicious ramen and boba tea, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreI ordered a vegetarian donburi, the 'Ronin', which was a bowl with rice, black beans, tofu, and a fairly generous amount of vegetables, including cucumber, avocado, carrots, cabbage, potato and some green onion shoots. The quality of the items was all very high, and nothing was undercooked or overcooked, nothing was excessively seasoned or prepared poorly. The bowl was very tasty.
I chose the Yum Yum sauce, and it was delicious (they have other sauces which would make the meal vegan). The donburi came in a medium sized take-out bowl, but it was filled to the top, so it was a good value.
The store has just opened, so the seating and decor has a very clean "just built" look, and it was very comfortable.
I would have given five stars for service if there was less plastic, and I would come back if there was the option to use a paper bowl (Chipotle and other vendors that have "bowls" use service material which is much better...
