I've traveled the world for 20 years, and this is my very FIRST hotel review...ever. Normally I don't write reviews if there are just a few things that are wrong, but this was my first hotel stay where virtually everything was unsatisfactory. When we checked in the person at the front desk was helpful and polite. The check-in process was smooth and painless as we were given our room and all the pertinent information regarding pool hours and breakfast times/locations; however, this is where the positives end. We immediately noticed a musty smell throughout the lobby, which is not uncommon in older hotels, but it was persistent through the hallways and into our room. The beds and linens appeared to be clean but there was long black hair found in the bathroom floor and commode area, which was very, very small and cramped. Also, the shower head was covered in hard water stains, the bathroom exhaust fan was ineffective in removing humidity, and there was the presence of mold on the ceiling and on the bathroom walls. Our son is allergic to mold so this was a problem. Fortunately we were just passing through for the night. The pool was completely disgusting. The tile along the waters edge was brown like the edges of a swamp, and the water had no chlorine aroma and did not appear clean at all. Also there were no towels in the pool area when we arrived at 7pm. We intentionally chose a hotel with a pool to let the kids play, but we did not feel comfortable letting them in the water, so that was disappointing. Our overnight stay was interrupted repeatedly by foot traffic on the upper level, so we tried to drown out the noise with the air conditioner fan which kept turning on and off even though we had the fan setting switched to "ON" and "HIGH". Once the foot traffic died down upstairs around 11pm, we got a little sleep; but beginning at 2am our night was filled with drunk patrons running up and down the hallway and yelling until we finally had enough around 4am. The hallway video cameras were apparently not being monitored and the individual at the front desk was unable to control the situation (he was not in hotel attire nor appeared to be concerned with our situation#. Our next-door neighbors tried to get into our room on a couple of occasions through the adjoining door and there was even a fight that broke out amid all the yelling and partying #It was unsettling to say the least, especially when our 5-year old was unable to sleep and was up asking what was going on#. I asked the teenager front desk worker #who I woke up when I walked in) if I could speak with an on-call manager, and he said there was nobody who he could call to address our complaint. I asked for a corporate contact, and he provided no information and stated the hotel was independently operated. We checked out around 4am with virtually no sleep and skipped out on the complimentary breakfast, which I cannot say was good or bad since we were not there to experience what that was like. I spoke to the manager later that morning who credited us $30 off our bill, and said I should have called the cops if I had a problem...unsatisfactory!! I want all my money back since the experience was a complete disaster, I will address this with corporate headquarters and will never stay at a...
Read moreThe motel is a rat hole! This is the worst motel I have ever stayed in. There is paint peeling from the walls, windows are filthy, carpet under furniture has bottle caps, peanut shells & other dried food.....I wouldn't think of reaching under there if i lost a $100 bill ! I am NOT prejudice nor do I make it a habit to judge, but 98% of the employees do not speak English and are unable to fill requests or answer questions. It would appear that employees live at the motel because they can be seen 24/7 and oft times in evening attire. Outside the lobby, the place smells. The hallway smells like bacon and other foods cooking regardless of rules. Throughout every day the odor of marijuana can be smelled. The second floor has employees and other people standing outside their rooms (living quarters) with food, marijuana, backpacks.....children of these people run up and down the halls. The continental breakfast is a laugh!! If you don't get there before cleaning staff there is nothing left! Vending machines are mostly empty and the customer's washer/dryer is in constant use by those who "live" there! Pool was closed. I would not enter it anyway! WIFI worked for the most part but when it doesn't, there's no use in complaining. Out of seven light fixtures in my room I had two working lightbulbs. Filth around the tub and toilet. I had to ask for towels every day! Two of us booked for a week and when we arrived we had two bath towels and two hand towels! The bathroom has ants..... I would say that of all things that were most disgusting, the people who walked around stoned and dirty would have to top the list. Keep doors locked at all times. Inside and outside, the place was run down. I fully expect it to be closed within 2 years. ONE thing that deserves a score of ten was the manager, Diane ! She was so very kind and did all she could do to make a person's stay pleasant. Her job is not easy! Even though she is manager, the staff that the Inn provides her with are difficult. On one occasion I witnessed a staff member get in Diane's face and speak harshly! I truly believe Diane's standard of management could be more appreciated elsewhere. The lobby and snack area were clean and nicely decorated by her sole efforts. This lady always smiled and listened.....she is the ONLY good thing I have to mention about this stay. Needless to say, we will never stay here again! They can delete this but I intend to contact other sources for reasons I will not mention. This has been my honest experience and reason...
Read moreIf i could give this place zero stars I would. This chain an it's employees need to be terminated from the Choice Hotels franchise like the trash they are. I stayed there with my adult niece and 7 year old nephew over Mother's Day weekend. Staff was the worst I have ever encountered. I tripped and fell on there uneven pavement outside and hit my head so hard I passed out at one of the tables in the pool room. My niece and other guests came to my aid while the ruthless hotel staff could have cared less. In fact, front desk lady named Katie B just stared at me and said I didn't have a concussion because one of my pupils was not larger than the other. Another guest, who happened to be a nurse, just looked at my niece and said Katie B had no idea what she was talking about. Again, no concern at all from staff. No offer to comp my room for falling on there horrible property, NOTHING! I had the worst headache from this fall and they wouldn't even give me a couple Tylenol. Here it is 2 days later, and I am still suffering from a bad headache from the fall. In addition to this, there was a kids soccer team staying at the hotel the same night. These kids did nothing but run up and down the hallways laughing and screaming until after midnight. Apparently, the staff has no problem with this because again they did NOTHING. And where were the adults that were in control of these kids? Probably drunk with the rest of the adults drinking in the pool area. It wasn't until another guest opened her door at 12:15am and asked the kids to be quiet that they finally shut up. The room seemed clean but the beds were as hard as a rock so on top of the injury I sustained, I woke up with the worst backache in the morning. The faucet on our sick was apparently not properly installed because anytime we would use it, it would drip and leak all over the vanity. Real safe considering the outlet and hair dryer are right there. And the refrigerator located inside a cabinet on a dresser...who does that? Appliances need ventilation but apparently they are too stupid to know this. This is not a family friendly hotel. I'm sure if you are a drunk, druggie, or someone with disrespectful kids that scream all night they would love to have you. Otherwise, spend the extra money and go to one of the better hotels...
