I arrived here around 7:17pm with a friend for a 7:15pm reservation for our friends birthday. It was a party of 4 total. The other two arrived there around 7:10pm and had been waiting since then. They told me they were asked by staff if they wanted to sit or wait because the table was ready. They said they wanted to be sat. The host told them to stand to the side for a second and didn’t say anything more. We were finally sat at 7:23pm.
Service: 4/5 -I visited here for the first time 3 months ago. Our waiter, Jonathan, came at 7:27pm. We were given waters shortly before he arrived. We ordered alcoholic drinks at this time. I got the blueberry lemon drop. -At 7:34pm, waiter returned and inquired about appetizers. We ordered calamari and off menu shrimp that’s like firecracker shrimp. I had this shrimp at my last visit and it was spectacular. -The drinks arrived at 7:45pm. My drink was delicious, as expected. The apps came at 7:50pm. -For food, the waiter recommend: Short rib, fillet steak, and sea bass. -We ordered around 8pm. I got the boneless short rib with a side of peasant cabbage. My 3 friends all got the “smokin’ hot couple.” I also ordered another app of the shrimp which came at 8:09pm. -Our entrees arrived at 8:43pm -After we were done eating, we waited an extended period of time for Jonathan to return. When he did, he asked about boxes and 3/4 of had our food boxed. After that, we obtained the bills fairly quickly.
Food Quality: 4/5 -App Shrimp: The shrimp was everything I expected and more. It was so delicious, I ordered a second one. -Calamari: My friends said, “it was crispy; I liked it” and “I liked the banana peppers; it did something to me.” One friend stated, “I didn’t like the sauce” that came with the calamari -Smokin’ Hot Couple: One friend said, “the shrimp is really good.” The filet was described as “Soft, juicy, and tasty.” Another friend stated the filet was “tender” and “I liked the sauce”. -Short Rib: The meat was twnderwasn’t a huge fan of the sauce but it wasn’t bad. I got full and ate the rest for lunch the next day. -Cabbage: Decently seasoned and a tad crunchy. I prefer my cabbage to be softer.
Presentation: 4/5 -Shrimp appetizer came on a bed of lettuce. -Smokin Hot Couple: For me, the platting seemed a little messy. There was a large plate but it was only the meat. There was no set placement for the shrimp either. The sides came in their dishes. I believe this should’ve been presented in a smaller dish or added the side to it. -Short rib: Beautifully plated but arrangement caused varying temperature of the food. Some of it was piping hot while other parts were lukewarm or on the cooler side.
Ambiance & Cleanliness: 5/5 -Inviting atmosphere, well-decorated, clean, and comfortable.
Value for Money: 4/5 -The shrimp appetizer was $16 for about 8 shrimp; that’s $2 a shrimp and than more the average chicken wing. -I received a small amount of cabbage that I didn’t feel was worth $7

Read moreSo this was our first time trying Epic and sadly it didn't live up to the Epic name nor the hype of most people. Were there some good things, sure, but overall not somewhere I'd be itching to go back to visit. Let me elaborate. First off my wife ordered a $12 "black magic" drink from the bar. The drinks arrived and was half a whiskey glass full and half of that was a big block of ice so basically you got about a shot and it wasn't good. Two people at the table got it and the other person didn't even drink hers it was so nasty. Now the food. Some other people in our group ordered artisan bread, the cheese toast, roast garlic spinach dip, and some Shanghai shrimp. All of which besides the toast was good except the spinach dip was absolutely amazing! Highly recommended! My wife and myself decided to split the 28oz porterhouse steak medium rare with baked potato and of coarse the waitress offered up a soup or salad like it was included which isn't, but she was a good salesperson and my wife ordered the $12 lobster bisque. The soup arrived and it was eh decent in my opinion although on the small portion side, but my wife liked it so that's all that mattered. Personally I wasn't impressed with it. Now the main coarse. The porterhouse! It came out and looked amazing. Nice char on the outside, juices in the plate, and smelled delicious! Then I cut in to it and the bottom part was cooked close to medium rare as we ordered it, but the other half of the steak was medium to medium well. I usually don't like sending food back so I just grunted and decided to eat it anyway. However people at the table could tell I wasn't happy and ask what was going on and I told them it was cooked wrong. The waitress overheard it and immediately took my plate and went to get it cooked correctly. The manager brought it back out with a new baked potato and made sure it was cooked to our liking this time. It was and he apologized for the issue. Now that it was cooked correctly I was excited to try it again and see if it lived up to the Epic hype so many people crow about, unfortunately not! The steak was tender and melted in the mouth, but there was so much salt on it it was basically like pouring coarse salt in your mouth with some beef broth and chewing it up. I ate about 3 bites and it was all I could stand. I wasn't about to send it back again so I just ask for a to- go box and brought it home. I'm really saddened that my high hopes were severely let down by this experience at Epic!! I had been looking forward to trying it all week only to get letdown hard. If someone gives us a gift card or we get invited to go for someone's birthday or something will the only reason I go back and even then I'll just order the spinach dip since it and the baked potato were the only part of the...
Read moreWe came here to celebrate my Aunt's 70th birthday as we thought this would be a nice place to finally try.
We started off with a couple of cocktails - strawberry-tini and french passion (preferred this one) and the spinach, brie & roasted garlic bake, all of which were great.
For our meals: *The Legendary Wellington - filet mignon in a puff pastry and mushroom reduction *Kabobs - filet mignon tips with fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes *Airline Chicken- white cheddar stuffed chicken with potato wedges
Sides: *White Cheddar Mac & Cheese *Epic Creamed Spinach *Thin Green Beans *Glazed Mushrooms
This was our first time trying beef wellington, and it was amazing. The kabobs with the vegetables were also very flavorful. I would say the only thing we didn't enjoy, were the potato wedges as they lacked flavor. The white cheddar mac and cheese was also only okay, would have preferred it to be stronger in cheese flavor and creamier. Again, not the worst, but probably not something I would order again since it was only okay. All other sides were enjoyed.
We had to finish with dessert - the highly rated cheesecake topped with caramel and praline, along with, the chocolate chip cookie skillet. While the cheesecake was very good, the cookie skillet was amazing. It was perfectly cooked and I couldn't stop eating it.
The only reason I'm knocking off one star is service for two reasons. First, In our reservations, I requested a table off to the side and instead, we were given a loud table smack dab in the middle of the restaurant. For an upscale restaurant, it's disappointing that they did completely opposite of my request and did not even acknowledge my request - no sorry we just couldn't do that tonight. Second, our server was friendly to start with, but then as we received our meals to getting dessert, he seemed to be less than enthusiastic about serving us. Just not the start to finish service you want from an upscale restaurant.
Overall, a great dinner and would recommend Epic for a...
