Paloma — Restaurant in Mooresville

t’s not like me to leave reviews, but I felt a little deceived by the 4.8 stars when deciding to try Paloma for the first time. We went on a Saturday night and were surprised to see so many empty tables. From the moment we walked in, the vibe just felt off — the music was super loud and all over the place.

When I go to a nice restaurant, I don’t want to scan a QR code to order. I like holding a menu, seeing the design, and getting a feel for the place. The cocktails were fine, but the food was disappointing. The shishito peppers were the best thing we ordered. The Korean pork belly buns were just okay, and the chicken sandwich (which our waiter recommended) honestly tasted like something frozen and reheated. My wife got the pappardelle veneto and it had almost no flavor.

They did bring her a slice of cake for her birthday, which was kind, but the moment when the waiter and maybe the owner sang to her just felt awkward more than anything. I can appreciate the effort, but overall, the experience didn’t...

Came by on a Saturday night and sat outside under the market lights after sunset. The area was very pretty but I wish there was more ambient lighting once the sun went down. I had the coconut paloma cocktail and it was great and balanced. Meatball appetizer was delicious. The server and kitchen were very flexible with some of our requests on entrées. I had the firecracker shrimp wrap. Tasty and filling. I saw a "halal garlic" sauce on the menu - I thought it would be similar to toum but it was mainly herbal/dill flavored. I love how this spot has transformed into an elegant place for after work cocktails, date night or girls night. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Tataki and the Coconut Guava Paloma. Both delish! The cocktails are beautifully crafted. The decor is beautiful; what a transformation from Sabor! A large group of ladies came in and they were super loud. Their loud voices and laughter carried and it made our dining experience unpleasant because we couldn’t hear each other talk!
