I first want to say that there are 2 employees that I really wanna give a shout out too! I don't know their names, unfortunately. But they do a really good job and have worked through the shortage of employees. They also try to accommodate me when they can. With that being said, I'm sorry to say that I rarely go here anymore. I'm a local delivery driver. I drink vanilla lattes. I'm often near this location. It's convenient to stop through after a delivery to grab a coffee. The hours have changed to closing at 6pm now. But, I know from MANY other times that they clean their espresso machine 30 minutes before closing. I arrive at work and usually get to DD by 520ish. But, the espresso machine is almost ALWAYS down for cleaning. It's very frustrating to not have your menu available 40/45 minutes before closing. I also work at a food establishment and if an order is placed, we have to make it. Period. So cleaning for close is limited, until actual close. I have tried to get a time frame that I can come and get a latte but even when I work around there schedule, 8/10 times, it's still down. Alot of my co-workers also come to DD. We are working late so we all pretty much drink coffee but with extra shots of espresso. So when their machine is down for cleaning we have to reroute to the DD on highway 70. It's frustrating to the point that I don't go there unless it's only a couple minutes past 5. And the last 2 times I did that, the machine was again, down for cleaning. So I haven't been back since. So although we have access to the highway 70 store, it's not convenient. I wish that in the 2 years that I've been going to this location, they would be consistent. I'm sure it's an owner issue and not an employee issue which is why I am writing this. In hopes that the owner may see it. To those 2 employees I mentioned above, you...
Read moreHad to go through the drive through bc of COVID, which wasn't a problem, but the girl taking our order was rude. We drove up, and to save time, we asked - not all the flavors they carried - but simply if they had a specific flavor. Professionally speaking, it's not what you say sometimes, but 'how' you say it. Instead of answering our question, the girl tells us in a rude tone that their flavors are listed on a piece of paper on the menu, which my husband had to get out of the vehicle in order to read! 8.5 X 11 piece of paper TAPED to the menu board in a font that is difficult to read in particular vehicles that don't allow you to pull too-close-for-comfort up to the menu board. We could see that they attempted to draw attention to the list by placing stickers all around it, BUT YOU COULDN'T READ IT from within the vehicle. The whole experience from ordering, to paying, to the handing-off of our order felt like we were an inconvenience.
Our order, however, was correct and delicious, but I'm talking about two orders of ice cream. We weren't asking for...
Read moreWe ordered at one of the screens- our donuts came out quickly, followed by one of four drinks. Then we had to wait around 10(ish) minutes for the next three, two of which were the wrong drinks. One of the workers brushed it off when asked about it, which left us stumped. I don’t like talking negatively about service because I know how stressful it can be and the other two drinks were made well, it just took a bit of time.
The worker who was wearing the face mask, who I think said he was the cook (he said he usually did not make drinks) was great! If I could give him five stars I would. He was lovely, remaking our two drinks, giving us bigger sizes and then on top of this, giving us a bag of donuts to apologise for the wait time and inconvenience. He didn’t have to, but he did and I really want to say thank you to him. His kindness was really appreciated, even if I didn’t mind the wait!
The donuts and...
