Dining at Huey Magoo's was an experience that transported me to a world of culinary delight. The chicken, oh the chicken! It was as if I had been whisked away to the vibrant landscapes of Argentina, where the air is filled with the sounds of birds in jubilant flight. Each bite was a reminder of that exhilarating time when I ran alongside the flocks, feeling as free and spirited as the creatures gracing the skies.
The sauce, a masterpiece of flavor, was like the liquid ambition of humanity's spacefaring dreams. It held within its tangy depths the potential to fuel not just the palate but the engines of a spacecraft destined for Venus. One could easily imagine this sauce being the secret ingredient that powers the first manned mission to our neighboring planet, propelling explorers to new heights on the wings of culinary innovation.
Now, let's talk about the fries. Their crispiness was reminiscent of a winter's day, where each flake of snow is akin to the dandruff that graces one's shoulders—unexpectedly pleasant and oddly satisfying. These fries were a crunchy symphony, playing a tune that resonated with the very essence of comfort food, making each mouthful a crunchy delight.
The coleslaw, however, was the only character in this gastronomic play that missed its cue. It wasn't that it lacked potential; in fact, in the right setting—perhaps a rustic table amidst the rolling hills of rural Italy, with a backdrop of vineyards and the sound of a distant accordion—it could shine. It needed that perfect environment to transform from a miss to a hit, much like a rough diamond that reveals its true brilliance only under the master's chisel.
In all, Huey Magoo's offers a feast for the senses, a place where the chicken soars, the sauce inspires, the fries delight, and even the coleslaw, with a little imagination, finds its place...
Read moreI usually love Huey Magoo’s. I’m really disappointed I have to come on here and write this review but I feel like some awareness needs to be spread. I’ve never had any problems with the food or service during dayshift but night shift seems to be very poorly ran. Huey Magoos is already expensive in itself So when I go to get it, I like to treat myself to it. But I’ll say last night was definitely not a treat for me. I wait in line for almost an hour, I finally get my food and I’m excited to eat it. It tasted just fine Until I woke up in the middle of the night with violent vomiting and diarrhea that Has been going on for about 12 hours. I have food poisoning the doctors say. I’m also nine months pregnant on top of this so you can just imagine how shitty I’m feeling. I’m so Aggravated Because not only did I spend $20 for one meal And wait forever in line. I’m also on my deathbed with how sick I am after eating it. I’m not gonna say much about the prices though because I don’t care to spend money on good food and Hueys is usually amazing but it’s the fact I spent that money and didn’t get my food prepared right somehow. Night Shift needs to do better And to stop serving people contaminated/...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious. They were still slammed with a line into the road since it was only their second day, and despite the staff being overwhelmed they still got my order completely right and the food was great.
I hadn't tried a Huey Magoo's before but I was expecting something akin to Slim Chicken's or a Raising Cane's. Thankfully for me, it was much closer to a Raising Cane's experience but with the menu variety of a Slim Chickens. The chicken was great quality, tender and cooked perfectly. The hand breading was well seasoned and crispy. I loved the Magoo's sauce and the Spicy Magoo's sauce, both had a bit of kick, with the spicy being more a buffalo based sauce.
We did the drive through, but the indoor seating area looked like it was a nice, modern setup. The drive through setup is pretty much the Chik-Fil-A model which honestly works great. Props to the staff who were out in the rain tonight taking order, they were troopers and did a great job. Overall very impressed with how well it all flowed despite having just opened.
I'm a Raising Cane's diehard, and this honestly scratches the itch for me. I'm glad to see Morehead get a good quality...
