I’ll be honest, the beginning of my GVA experience was not great, but it didn’t have anything to do with what GVA did. I was the one that made it not so great. When I ordered two medium coffees, the cashier asked for the amount I needed to pay, which is pretty standard protocol for cashiers. The only problem was I left my wallet in my car, which is not standard protocol for a customer. I embarrassingly asked my girlfriend to go to my car and get my wallet. She seemed annoyed with the question, but not surprised. She has grown familiar with me forgetting most things in my life. After I got my wallet and paid for the coffee, things were starting to look up for me. In a way I was kind of grateful that I started my experience at GVA cafe poorly because then there was only room for improvement. I don’t think my girlfriend shared the same sentiment. When we ordered, I got the burrito bowl and she got the breakfast burrito. I always get breakfast burritos, I don’t know what I was thinking. I guess I don’t do well under pressure. As soon as I had to make a play and order my favorite food, I chocked and ordered something else. My girlfriend on the other hand, apparently has blood in her veins because she ordered exactly what she wanted. Don’t get me wrong, the burrito bowl was good, but the whole time I was just thinking how I would prefer to switch out my bowl for a tortilla. The worst part was I had to sit across my girlfriend who ordered the beautiful breakfast burrito. I should have switched tables and not put myself through that misery. I proposed a trade, one bite of my burrito bowl for a bite of her breakfast burrito, but she wasn’t budging. Next time I go here, I’m going to be clutch and order exactly...
Read moreCoffee was watered down and did not taste good. Ended up throwing it out because it just tasted awful. They did not communicate with us about a sandwich being refunded until we were there in person, we ordered online beforehand. They told us to get back in line to order another sandwich and then after waiting in line again they said it would take 45 minutes to make a new sandwich. I'm not waiting 45 minutes for a sandwich that I already ordered beforehand. I understand they may have been overwhelmed on orders, I just wish there had been better communication.
I also did not appreciate the response, "Well, I hope your happy with what you got." The mistake was on their end and they didn't even try to fix it so, no, I'm not happy with what I got and I'm not happy with the attitude given to me in response to their mistake. It's just ridiculous to be responding like to any customer when it was entirely their fault for the lack of communication. The gelato is good though, but why is it $5 for the smallest scoops of gelato?
Probably won't come back after that. I am pretty disappointed because I've enjoyed eating there many times before, but this experience just ruined it for...
Read moreI had to give it three stars because they really do have the best coffee in town. Also it's a historical fixture. The people who grew up in this town grew up going to this coffee shop when it was the only independent coffee shop though it was owned by different people throughout the years. Also the people behind the bar are really nice!
The worst part about this place is the inside is uncomfortable and they have continued to descend away from caring about the environment/ community. They don't even have mugs and even hand out plastic straws. The place is downright dirty and the atmosphere uncomfortable . The food is meh and the options more so. They have all of the stuff out in such a cluttered unkempt way. It's like trying to relax in a messy house. They prominently display their disposable junk and supplies instead of putting it away out of sight and there's even wadded up paper in the dirty bathroom floor. I would describe the atmosphere as uncleaned gasoline stained hoarder garage. It's such a shame because I would hate to see this place not be able to compete and go downhill/lose customers since they really do have the best coffee and the...
