Dear Google Review,
This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had, I don't know why I keep going back, it must be because there's nothing to eat in this stupid little town. I just wanted a nice breakfast after a stressful morning, and what I got was terrible service, mediocre food, and was forced to leave a tip that was not deserved. Now, I understand if someone is having a bad day, but the whole restaurant cannot have a bad day. Things happen, and I understand, but this is inexcusable. When I arrived, I was greeted by a not so nice waitress, who seated us. And when I asked about a specific item on the menu, she was rather rude about it, saying she couldn't write it up because it's not on the menu, even though you can customize everything else. And when I had previously gone to that same Denny's a few days earlier, I asked the same thing, and the waitress said that was alright, she would just have to write it up differently, so honestly I think the waitress I had today was just lazy, and disorganized. And when we went to pay, another staff member greeted us, she was sorta rude and snappy. And when I finally went to pay, I asked her to split the bill, and she straight up ignored me. So I ended up paying for the both of us, and she asked me what I wanted to leave for a tip, and when this happened, two other staff members were standing there, and I didn't want them to know what I wanted to leave as a tip. So I also ended up leaving a bigger tip than I wanted because I didn't want to seem like a horrible person. And when I was adding up the tip, she prompted me to be faster, and kept insisting on hurrying up, even though we were the only one's in line, and one of the few left in the restaurant. And quick side note, during our meal the waitstaff was fighting behind the counter for all of the restaurant to see, over who was more argumentative. All in all, the experience was horrible, and I never want to go back to this Denny's again. I also want to call out our waitress Heather C., thanks...
Read moreWas a terrible experience. Was lead to the table by a waitress who said she had no customers and after she served our drinks another waitress came and said she was "taking" us from the other cause she seated us in her section. Then they was the food... I had a chicken plate meal and my wife got a chicken burger... Mine was mediocre at best. Hers was truly sub-par. The chicken smelled and tasted like fish and the bread was hard around the edges eventhough it wasn't toasted or grilled... And then sadly they was the drinks... Hers was fine. A coke. mine was tea which I drank a whole glass while the cook was screwing up a chicken sandwich and then the waitress said they was out of tea and I'd have to wait for more to be made. About 10 minutes later our food came out and we started to eat. Half way through the meal the waitress brought me a glass of coke which I thought was nice of her but I don't drink carbonated drinks and was disappointed she didn't ask if I wanted something different instead. So as I sat there and waited 10 more minutes to wait on my gal to finish her dry hard chicken sandwich that smelled like fish they brought me a tea and the check... Which was also screwed up. I was overcharged $1.10 so while at the check out counter I asked to see a menu and looked up what she ordered and showed her it was different then what the price on the receipt said and she asked if we upgraded to season fries.. Which would of only been a. 59 cent different. But the annoying part was when she called someone over and they asked the same dumb question. And then they called someone else over and again was asked if I upgraded to season fries. Which I finally said if I had it would of said so on the ticket. But anyways they minused 1.10 from the ticket and I didnt complain about the tax on the 1.10 that I got charged. I should of just went to McDonald's... Also don't think I should of been charged for the tea since I didnt have any...
Read moreTo sum up my opinion quickly, choose IHOP over Denny's for this style of diner food as the prices are comparable, but IHOP has better quality food, larger portion sizes, a larger staff so less wait time, and its noticeably cleaner than Denny's.
For the quality, the food is drastically overpriced: over $10 for a burger with fries; over $8 for a small plate of most of the appetizers; $10 for an omelette; $10 for two eggs, bacon/sausage, a couple pancakes, and hashbrowns, etc. Its hard to justify taking a small family for something as simple as burgers and fries or a breakfast plate, and then looking at a bill costing upwards of $50 (not including the tip).
This Denny's is terribly slow service wise, with my family's wait time exceeding forty-five minutes for our food to come out. This was after waiting fifteen minutes for the waitress to actually take our order when we were all ready to order. No one at the table got a beverage refill the entire time we dined, though we did get offered to-go cups of beverage when we were leaving.
The cleanliness of the restaurant was subpar as our table has dried syrup and little pieces of onion on it that we had to clean off ourselves. It was not just our table, but most of the restaurant was like this. For example, the floor looked as though it hadn't been vacuumed in a day or two as random bits of food and pieces of the wrapping paper straws are in were scattered all over the place.
For the price and time spent here, a family could easily to go a much nicer establishment to enjoy an evening dinner together as this approached steakhouse pricing for the majority of the menu offerings. We won't be returning here for a family meal again, and if our experience tends to be the norm, I would wager Denny's will be experiencing very little...
