Homer's Soda Shop — Restaurant in Morganton

Ate here twice before and after camping near Linville Gorge. While the gorge is an all time favorite Homer's was right up there with it for making a perfect father/son weekend. Chorizo tacos for lunch on the way . Jamie gave lots of helpful tips on camping and hiking. Mother's day brunch was packed but the food was awesome and you don't get in a hurry because the whole vibe is so funky and cool. Music and decor are upbeat and eclectic. Went in on a Thursday night bartender was behind the bar taking a shot when I walked in, very unprofessional and illegal, ordered a simple jack and coke, and it was very strong and the bartender must be a heavy pourer or just too wasted to know when to stop, because all I tasted was jack, and a splash of coke. Jamie was over the Top. Wonderful service. Kamie showed us and explained every painting. The canvas painting were fantastic. Took excellent care of my wife, both kids. Now the food, well you just have to try it. Outstanding, one of the best ham & cheese sandwiches ever !! The sweet potato tacos are some of the best tacos we have had. The personal service is just plan and simply the best we have ever had !!! Hands down worth the 35 minute drive and worth missing the Gost Walk. Just can't say enough. Thank You for the GREAT...
