Easily the worst Italian food I have ever had. The only thing that was decent was the appetizer, prosciutto and burrata. The salad? Like bagged salad from Walmart with a couple sweet peppers and olives. Huge chunks of lettuce. The bread? Imagine Little Caesars crazy bread but less flavorful and more crunchy. I had the bolognese. The only flavor there was very salty sausage. Nothing else. My wife got the shrimp scampi. Literally a pile of buttered noodles, soggy peppers, and boiled shrimp. She actually asked me if scampi was supposed to have garlic in it. There was no flavor. I’m not kidding you when I say the only flavor was watered down butter. The wine was okay. The selection was about the same as what San Marzano’s was. The cocktail list is smaller. Our server was okay. My only thing was we had our entrees for maybe ten minutes before she was coming by asking if we needed boxes. She hadn’t even asked if we wanted a refill on wine or water before she asked if we wanted boxes, meanwhile our plates were still almost full. The atmosphere was a typical Italian cafe, but also a weird sports bar aesthetic. San Marzano’s was MUCH better by a long shot. Very disappointed, especially for the price. Our entrees, the appetizer, and two glasses of wine left us with an 83...
Read moreOliverios in the wharf is my favorite restaurant in town. I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu and never had a bad meal. I decided to order some dinner to go from Cafe Oliverios and was very disappointed with the meat sauce. It was different from the last time I had it at the wharf. It lacked taste and had onions in it which the sauce at the wharf location didn’t. At one time we loved the pizza at the wharf but they did the same thing with the pizza sauce adding onions. I’ll still order food from the Cafe location but won’t be ordering the pasta with meat sauce. But to me, if you have something good why change it? At least I can always count on Muriale’s saice being the same...
Read moreDinner with a group 4 adults, 3 children. We had reservations and we were sat at a table right inside the door that was not large enough to accommodate, very cramped and crowded. Service was great , yet my food was inedible ( chicken and penne) chicken was beyond overcooked/dry and sauce was tasteless. Thankfully the apps were ok. My second visit hoping it would improve from the first. Previous visit the food was ok but we were sat outside, which I would not recommend due to the road noise. Cheat Lake needs better dining options and we were excited, unfortunately the Oliverios name and reputation does not translate well to...
