Outback used to be one of my favorite restaurants, and normally, I would give it 5 stars, but this particular visit was not good. The food was mostly good. My family seems happy with their meals. Though my steak was overcooked, and the carrots were undercooked and very hard. My complaints today are not with the food. We made a reservation for 6:15, and still we waited for 30 minutes to get a table. We had a baby who needed a high chair. They put us in a booth at the front of an aisle with the high chair sticking out into the aisle where many many people had to walk past the high chair to get to their seats. They put us right beside a very large party of maybe 30-40 people. It was very loud and we could barely have a conversation at our table. There were many open tables on the other side of the restaurant. This was annoying but still not something I would complain about. It was the servers. Our server started out fine, but throughout our dinner, it became harder to find her to get refills or anything else. We were done with our meal and had asked for boxes and sat for another 15 minutes waiting until I finally asked the hostess to get us boxes and 5 minutes after that I tracked down the server for the bill. That all sucks but, its still not something I would complain about. Their servers were obviously not trained well because not one, but two of them made a very big mistake. Managers need to understand that common sense is not a given and, therefore, you need to train your servers on everything even if you think they "should" already know. When they delivered soup and salad to our table, the server held the salad over my 11-month-old granddaughters head. The bowl had ranch all over the side of it, and I saw it drip off and nearly landed on the baby's head. Another server who refilled our drinks did the same and held drinks over her head. These are heavy glass tumblers. It worried me. And, several very hot meals were passed over her head as well. So in conclusion, we paid a lot of money (for six people) to have a not so good experience. I was worried for my grand-babys' safety throughout the meal. I am very...
Read moreUNDERCOOKED FOOD!!!
We went for lunch. Was not crowded. About 15 people total there.
Ordered the wings for the appetizer, and wish I would have went there. They brought the wings, quickly, and should have known they were not cooked!!!
The wings were undercooked. I ate two, the third one was raw inside, and when I looked at the plate, there was bloody watery mix all over the plate.
I realized AFTER eating it that it wasn’t cooked enough and the fact that it had been contaminated by the other raw wings, should have sent up rag flags.
He waitress came back, showed her, she was like WOW. Not good. And she apologized for it and took it off the bill. However, not one member of management came to ask anything or to apologize for raw food (which raw chicken is majorly dangerous and can be lethal).
When the main course came, which was chicken, they were so nervous that they overcooked the chicken to where it was tough and leather to eat.
I told the waitress, she was soooo apologetic about the whole situation, instead of removing the whole bill, we still paid for the bill for food that we did not even eat.
UPDATE
Spent the last week throwing up and had to go to the Urgent Care to see if I had E. coli or even salmonella poisoning!!!
Thank God that it was JUST food poisoning!!! Spent over a week constantly going to the bathroom whenever I would eat or drink. Have been on the BRAT diet for a few days.
Word of caution and just an FYI to the Management——-next time a customer complaint comes in with RAW FOOD, you should hurry and quickly go talk to the customer and find out if there was anything that can be done. NOT pretending that it never happened, and not returning phone calls (which I had to call them area GM and complain) let alone try to blame the customer when your staff cooked and prepared the food and the expediter should have seen the blood and fluids running the plate!!!
WILL NEVER...
Read moreMy wife and I was on a road trip traveling from Maryland to Salt Lake City Ut. We where getting hungry so we noticed the signs from the freeway and took the exit to the restaruant hoping to get a really nice meal and great service. What we did get was unexpected and appalling. Upon ariving we greeted the hostess at the door we where wearing appropriate mask. The hostess informed us that we would have a 5 minute wait for service, even though there where very few patrons in the restaraunt. The hostes also informed us that we where required to wait outside. The temperature outside was 19 with wind chill of below zero, my wife informed the hostess that she has a severe medical condition and ask if we could simply wait in the breeze way. The hostess then said he did not know the answer to this so he went to get the on shift manager, the manager appeared and ask that we wait in the car for service, my wife once again tried to explain to the manager about her medical condition that we had informed the hostess of. Now bear in mind in the few minutes of this happening at least 3 tables had cleared and left, all passing by with no mask on. The manager was extremely rude and did not care about about the medical issue that we informed him of.We decided to leave the restaraunt extremely upset and feeling that we had just been the victim of discrimination This incident happened 02/02/2021 at 6:10 Pm. This review is just the start, I ony Wish I could have picked a 0 rating . This incident has left a severe impact on my wife and I about the service and quality of staff as well as coorporate policy of Outback Restaurants. I do and will adress this issue at the...
