Ebbey George's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Morris

The chef was very confrontational about mistakes with my dietary restrictions, in a matter which was not my fault.

Burger was delicious.

What happened was, I had explained I couldn't eat onions (which are dangerous to my health), and asked if I could eat a specific burger which said it had onions, but without onions. The waitress said it was fine. But of course, it came with onions. An understandable mistake! I kindly explained the situation to the waitress, but the chef intervened and accused me of being at fault in unfriendly tones. It took some patient firmness on my part to explain the situation, which was thoroughly uncomfortable. The chef only relented when he finally checked the paper order he had received for our meal requests, and finally realized he had accidentally missed the instructions. Only them did he cease remonstrating me, and, grumbling to himself, cook me a meal which I could actually eat without hurting myself.

Awesome food, Burgers are the best around. I subtracted 1 star for the 2nd visit because according to a Google search for Ebbey George's, they are 'open' till 12am. Believing a Google search, I drove 25 miles to enjoy another great burger but when we arrived this time, we were told they stop serving food at 2pm. Live and learn. At least Morris, Il has plenty of Pubs that serve wonderful food! Thanks Clayton's Tap...

Staff is very friendly, and a good place to come and have some beers. If you’re looking to eat, be ready to wait a minimum of 20 minutes for your order to be taken, and another 30 for your food to be ready.
