My sister & brother-in-law took me for all you can eat chicken tenders, catfish & bbq last time I visited. The restaurant was packed when we arrived & we had to wait a minute for them to clean a table for us. I started with chicken tenders & catfish & opted for collard greens & green beans for sides. The greens were flavorless, but the green beans were good. They weren't overcooked & they were well seasoned. The chicken tenders were okay, but the catfish was absolutely amazing! It was perfectly battered, perfectly cooked & served piping hot with tartar sauce on the side. I have to say the catfish was second best I've ever had. It would have been the best, but across the table, my brother-in-law was brought way overcooked catfish that was dark brown, crunchy & dry. Fortunately my sister's catfish was like mine. When I reordered, I only requested catfish as did my brother-in-law. The server brought a plate piled with catfish - some looked gorgeous, cooked perfectly while others were bordering on burnt. One thing I really like about this restaurant is they allow you to change your sides when you reorder. I tried the fried apples & coleslaw & greatly enjoyed both of them. The coleslaw was finely chopped & refreshing. The fried apples were still slightly crisp with a tang. I would return to this restaurant, but next time I'll review the check before paying because when we arrived home & looked at the receipt, we were charged twice...

Last week was great. Breakfast was perfectly cooked and service was amazing. This week was not as good. Last week we had Jackie and she goes the extra step to make sure her customers are happy. This week Angie took out order. First I cannot understand a waitress arguing that her way of getting the meal is better than the customer. When explained that we did not want the big platter and wanted to order a side item, she was determined that it needed to be her way. So that meant that the meat was left off the order since we did not want the potatoes and extra meat. She was argumentative that her way was cheaper and therefore better. But cheaper is not always better. When you explain the cheap way is too much food and you don’t want to waste then you should be allowed to get what you want. Today we learned that Angie knows better than we do. Move forward. When the scrambled eggs came out they were not cooked as ordered. Jackie always writes the special request and highlights it so the cook know what we want. When the food came back it was good but this meant that one person in our group had to wait while they others ate. We love the breakfast but the serve this week was...

I came in and sat down, my waitress immediately brought me a cup of coffee with my menu. I felt like a regular already, it's my second time in, that's an amazing feeling for a driver like myself. When you're never in one place for long, it's amazing to feel like family somewhere.

The food is phenomenal, and it comes out super quick! Not like some of these chain restaurants that want to take 45 min to get some French toast out the door. Yesterday, I had biscuits and gravy, home fries, grits, egg over medium, sausage and bacon, and it was so good! There was a minor mix up with my eggs, when they came out they were scrambled, I let the lady who brought them out know, and she immediately went and fixed it. That was amazing as well, no fuss, no fight, jus fix and move along. Today, I ordered the French Toast, eggs over medium, home fries, grits, bacon and sausage. Everything came out quick, hot and was delicious! My coffee cup never got low or cold (this is a HUGE deal for me, as coffee as coffee is my whole world LoL ā˜•) My waitress, Kimberly, made me never want to leave. I will recommend this place to all drivers who come through here, and I will def be back one day. Keep up...

Just an honest review of my experience here. Went for breakfast, seen the menu got pretty excited. The place was tiny, like maybe 20-25 tables. So I figured, it was gonna be fire. I ordered a coffee and my food pretty much right away. I ordered biscuits and gravy with eggs and home fries. My server was very nice, although I only seen her when she took my order and took my empty plate. It’s not a complaint, as I just ran out of coffee is all lol. My food came fairly quickly, I tried some of everything as I usually do right off and noticed that well the food was good, it wasn’t seasoned. It was all kinda bland in my opinion, I used a fair amount of S&P on my food after it came (you can see in the photo). I also used Ketchup on my home fries, that’s gross and don’t normally do that lol. Atmosphere was decent, felt like a large family dinner. I definitely didn’t hate it. It was cozy and the banter was fun. I’m genuinely not trying to bash this place, these are just my observations whilst I was here enjoying my breakfast. I will try again and I will update further with a different experience.

My dad was born in 1938 in East Tennessee. He sure could cook some southern food. Sadly, he died a little over a decade ago now and, among all the things I deeply miss about him, I have really missed his cooking, too. It was just happenstance that we went to Hillbilly's Cabin Restaurant for my best friend's graduation celebration, and I am so so happy that we went! It was the first time in a very very long time that I have tasted anything close to his cooking. I live in Knoxville but absolutely plan to eat at Hillbilly's Cabin again. The prices and portions are the best you can get anywhere. The staff is the epitome of kindness and customer service. I wish I could remember my waitress' name, maybe it was Nancy? My goodness she was amazing. If you go, get some cream corn and fried taters...you can thank me later. :)
