Finally found a real Gola spot after almost 20 years! I grew up eating Gola back in India, and ever since moving to the U.S. in 2005, I had pretty much given up hope. Tried a few places around here — including one on Davis Drive — but it was always way too much essence and not even close to the real thing. (And 9 out of 10 times their ice machine was down... just like the McDonald's ice cream machine!) I don’t want to name names, but if you have a sweet tooth like me, you know exactly which place I'm talking about!
Then we found Bombay Chuski Gola, and honestly, it felt like finding water in a desert!
I ordered the Chill-e-Chowpatty and it was out of this world — fresh flavors, dry fruits, coconut flakes, and that perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Not overpowering, not fake-syrupy — just pure happiness on ice.
My 10-year-old son, who is the pickiest eater on planet Earth (seriously, Gordon Ramsay would be scared to cook for him), originally just wanted chocolate. But after a little nudge and some expert guidance from the staff, he ended up picking the Mango Gola. Good call — because he LOVED it! He said it reminded him of the Mangola ice cream he eats during our India trips and gave it a straight-up 10/10. Trust me, if he’s giving anything a perfect 10, it’s a major event worth celebrating.
The staff was amazing too — super friendly, patient, and didn’t rush us even though we stood there like confused customers at an all-you-can-eat buffet. They took their time to help us pick the perfect flavors.
Another bonus? Huge free parking behind the church, and even another Indian food truck parked next to them. You can literally make it a full-on food festival night without driving all over town.
Long story short: If you miss real Gola — the kind that makes you instantly happy — run, don’t walk, to Bombay Chuski Gola. You’ll leave smiling... and maybe a little sticky, but it’s...
Read moreWe had a disappointing and frankly upsetting experience at this business over the weekend on Saturday. We arrived just a few minutes after closing time and were told they were no longer serving. While we completely understand the importance of respecting business hours, what followed was both confusing and disheartening.
Shortly after we were turned away, we saw the staff serve another customer—an adult—who arrived after us. We were a family with children, and when we politely returned to ask if we could now be served as well, the staff member firmly denied us again. When we asked why someone else was helped just moments earlier, he didn’t deny it—in fact, he boldly acknowledged that he had served them, but still refused to serve us without offering any explanation.
What made the situation worse was the staff member’s dismissive and unapologetic attitude. He showed no courtesy, no willingness to explain the inconsistency, and no concern for how his actions came across. It felt like we were being treated unfairly and unequally, which left a very negative impression.
We hope the business reflects on how such interactions affect families and customers, and considers adopting a more respectful and consistent approach...
Read moreAbsolutely loved my experience at Bombay Chuski Gola! The shaved ice is a perfect treat on a hot day, and they have so many amazing color and flavor options. We tried the Royal Rajwadi with Chocolate, Kachi Keri, and Kala Khatta, and each one was a delightful burst of flavors. The Paan Falooda was also a unique touch—so refreshing and delicious! The staff was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Can't wait to come back and try more flavors! Highly recommend it to anyone craving a delicious and vibrant...
