Milo's is such a cute place with a really amazing vibe! My partner and I have been twice now as we live locally. To be honest I really wanted to make Milo's a regular spot but unfortunately there have been a few things during both visits that have deterred us.
The aesthetic inside is really beautiful and they've done amazing work on the building itself! The parking lot however is an absolute mess; huge potholes, very limited space, and it's very difficult to get back out onto the main road once you're in the lot as visibility is bad. The potholes are a huge deterrent for me; several of them are so deep that any low riding vehicles would surely end up scraping their undersides or causing other damage.
The food and coffee itself sounded amazing in concept, but I found it to be a little lackluster. The coffee is very mild with almost no flavor (I've tried both the cold brew and the espresso) and the food was again, great in concept but a little lackluster in execution. The first time we went I got the goat cheese focaccia and it had almost no goat cheese and hardly any flavor, and my partner tried one of the smoothie bowls at it was so sweet it was hard to finish. We also had an issue with the smoothie bowl not coming out and having to ask for it twice; I had completely finished my meal and coffee by the time it made it to our table. We went in today hoping to try the summer menu that was slated to be dropped today via an announcement made on their Instagram, but when we arrived this morning around 10AM none of the food items were available.
Overall I think Milo's has a lot of potential to be a great spot, and I do think that where they're new there are bound to be some bumps that get smoothed out along the way. I think they have a lot of great ideas for food and drinks and I hope that they are successful in their...
Read moreMy rating for this place is a 4.5, only because I hadn’t visited enough for consistency. This place is pretty special. If you didn’t know, the owners are very involved in the operations of the café and usually when you have the owner involve sleeves rolled up with their coworkers. There’s an extra care into the product that’s being sold. I’ve been to this place, maybe five or six times. Every time I go, the Customer Service is elite. The staff is kind and warm as well as welcoming. Now let’s get to the food. I ordered an egg croissant with no ham because I don’t do pork. This sandwich is out of this world. The egg is seasoned so well I told the owner about the sandwich as a 12 out of five. Delicioso, the salad dressing that goes on the arugula, which has a very balanced flavor profile, almost made me forget about the sandwich. And I wasn’t expecting to get a salad, but it came with the sandwich. Then I had the seasonal Mexican latte and it was on point 5 of 5 solid recipe. Just to let you know, when it comes to coffee, my preference is to taste the coffee itself and with the syrup and milk. I’m not a fan of drinking sweet milk with a touch of coffee. So if you like the taste and the flavor of the coffee, this is an excellent choice. I will be back . Also, you can rent the coffee shop out and reserve the living room space as well. I recommend anybody that visits the Triangle area to come here. This café has so much character, which says a lot about the owners and staff! Thank you guys at Milos for what you do for the community!

Read moreFood: 5/5 The coffee is delicious. The staff have made a specialty drink for me (an iced raspberry mocha latte, not on their menu) and it's been delicious every time. You can tell they take their time with ensuring their drinks are well-crafted. I have only tried a slice of their homemade banana bread (SO. YUMMY.), but all of their pastries look fresh-made and the Goat Cheese & Egg Focaccia sounds incredible. Their food list is unique, but not in a way that feels like too much in a dish. The full menu has a wide variety of options, allowing for a full day of enjoyment starting with breakfast, and ending with lunch and snack options, as well as wine and drinks!
Service: 5/5 The staff here are INCREDIBLY kind, as well as personable. Every time I have visited, I have been greeted with welcoming smiles and conversation. You can tell the staff have a good relationships with one another, as well as thoroughly enjoy the place they work. The owners are extremely passionate about the drinks, food, and decor/vibe of the cafe. Wonderful, wonderful people.
Atmosphere: 5/5 Everything in the cafe is unique, eccentric, and has a very vintage/thrifted vibe. It's very cozy and not overcrowded like coffee shops in the area. The cafe's early mornings are extremely peaceful, which makes it a lovely place to get some studying done in the wee hours of the morning!
Highly, HIGHLY recommend this place. As someone who has been to probably half of the cafes and coffee shops across the RDU area, Milo's Cafe is easily my favorite. I doubt any other cafe will ever...
