Came in on a Sunday with a party of seven (four adults + three kids) at around 5:30 for dinner. The food was actually better than I expected it to be. For apps, we started with the fresh spring rolls (Steamed shrimp and pork, wrapped in thin rice paper with lettuce, cilantro, vermicelli, beansprouts, and mint served with house special peanut sauce). I wasn't a huge fan of the peanut sauce, so I opted for some sriracha instead.

For my entree, Pho your way - this was supposed to come with rare beef slices but all of them seemed pretty well done to me. I still enjoyed it though, even though some of the noodles were kind of chunked together. The broth made up for all of the flaws. My BF ordered the Saigon Special (rice plate loaded with BBQ Pork, Shrimp, Shrimp Wrap, and an Egg Roll), which he said he liked more than he thought he would. We also ordered the BBQ pork banh mi to split amongst the four adults because we wanted to try it, and it was pretty good. It was definitely a lot of food, but we ate everything.

Service was pretty spotty. We asked for extra napkins, which never came. One of the kids accidentally spilled water on the table, and we asked for extra napkins again and they only gave us two...pretty sure giving us a few more napkins is not going to make or break the biz.

Since I'm not from around here, I'm not sure if there are better Viet options around, but Taste Vietnamese is a...

This place is a hidden gem. I would not have spontaneously decided to eat here as the decor and signage do not stand out. I was brought by friends.

I have to disagree with the other reviews stating the broth was just bland. I ordered the Filet Mignon Phở. The dish is served as a bowl of hot broth with noodles, and the thinly sliced beef on the side. As delivered, it bears the subtlety of a finely prepared broth but could be considered bland if you were expecting something else. Crisp bean sprouts and a few stems of fresh basil were also brought to the table, as well as some sliced green peppers (which were quite hot!) and slices of lime. Everything appeared very fresh.

Upon request, a variety of sauces (mostly hot) were brought to the table.

I added the meat first, and then the bean sprouts and basil, then a squeeze of lime and some fish sauce, and a small amount of a dark red, oily, garlic and pepper sauce. The aroma was divine! The taste, excellent.

I would say this process takes patience, and perhaps also practice. The heat gradually increased as I neared the bottom of the bowl, and at the end it was a bit more than I was prepared for (though I know some who would like this quite a lot!)

Over all I was quite pleased, and I hope to dine with them again...

I want to preface this review by saying that we have ordered here several times before but most of what we get is the vegetarian pho. The Pho is very very decent, definitely preferable to a lot of the restaurants in the area.

Today, my girlfriend and I decided to try some of the other dishes on the menu and ordered the vegetarian vermicelli and the vegetarian curry (named the vegetarian delight on the receipt) and not only was the meal extremely disappointing, almost insulting. The service was even worse.

The vegetarian vermicelli was basically boiled noodles and boiled vegetables with the almost no seasoning on the vermicelli. The curry was basically coconut milk in fish sauce. Nothing else.

When we called to give feedback for the food, mind you - we were very polite, we were interrupted frequently and eventually the lady working rudely said “well no one complains. So good bye” and hung up. We called again and she said “yes bring it over” after my girlfriend insisted on a refund. When we got there she aggressively mumbled about how we didn’t like the food so we shouldn’t bother coming there again. I think moving forward we will take her...

Overall Score: 2.8/10 – A disappointing experience with a lackluster atmosphere and several issues with the food, making it an underwhelming visit overall. Atmosphere and Service: 4.5/10 – The restaurant was clean but dimly lit, giving it a somewhat uninviting feel. The overall vibe felt more like a place to eat quickly and leave rather than a welcoming dining experience. It wasn’t busy, yet the energy in the restaurant still felt lacking. Pho: 3.9/10 – A major letdown. The broth was bland and seemed watered down, missing the depth of flavor expected in a well-made pho. Fresh Rolls: 4.0/10 – Served with sweet sauce instead of the peanut sauce listed on the menu. This substitution affected the overall flavor balance and took away from the traditional experience. Gyoza: 4.3/10 – The gyoza itself was fine, but it was missing soy sauce, which should have been included for dipping. Pork Plate: 4.1/10 – The dish was missing the egg, which was supposed to be included. The missing components made the plate feel incomplete, and it seemed like the staff may have assumed the details wouldn’t be noticed.

Taste has forever served delicious Vegetarian Pho, Vietnamese curry, Vermicelli and Tofu fried rice. BUT they are pretty stringent when it comes to their billing structure. Re: My boyfriend ordered tea; NOTE: One teapot with a tiny cup per person. The Jasmine tea smelled amazing so I just asked for an extra cup and so did another friend. AND guess what? We were charged for 3 teas. WHY? Because we asked for extra cups. They didn't add extra tea to the teapot nor did she say that they would charge us for it. ALSO, I had said that the tea smelled nice and wanted an extra cup to try it. She acknowledged. But did not tell us even then! Wonder if they'd charge extra if you order one dish and ask for an extra plate?!... /shrug They need to work on their customer service and interactions. This was one of my favorite places to go to for lunch but their service is just absurd now. Anyway, You are here for your own food? Yes. Go ahead. You want to share? Be prepared to deal with any weird situations :)
