After reading reviews on both ends of the spectrum, and really missing Teriyaki after moving to Moses Lake, I decided to give it a shot. On one hand I know what good teriyaki is, after eating it all over Tokyo and the Seattle/Bellevue area, and on the other hand I didn't go in with high expectations because even a local Vietnamese friend of mine said that none of the Japanese places in town are run by Japanese people, it's mostly Chinese people, which I don't really care either way unless this results in poor quality food that doesn't match up to the standards of a certain cuisine. We ordered through door dash, chose chicken katsu with fried rice and vegetables, and another chicken katsu with steamed rice. Both came with a lightly dressed cabbage salad (not a fan of cabbage so don't base your opinion on me not eating it). Overall, don't plan to order from here again, though I'm a believer in not writing a place off for a single bad experience so we may go back and try the actual teriyaki and some noodles/pot stickers just to be sure (also why is there no yakisoba....). GOOD: The food was hot, the portion generous. The chicken had a thick, crispy breading. Not the most flavorful but the katsu sauce was good to dip it in! The veggie mix was mostly broccoli and zucchini, cooked perfect (bland but that's appreciated by people trying to eat healthy, better than greasy, and it was cooked well, again the dipping sauce is legit) BAD: I don't know what oil they cooked the fried rice in but it literally left a greasy chemical taste in my mouth after the first bite. Tried a couple more bites - can't do it. By far the worst fried rice I've ever had and I can't identify the flavor. Could use more sauce - you can get extra for 25 cents, recommend it :) Katsu breading tore up my mouth, though I regret nothing because the sauce was good. I'm not hungry anymore, but not...
Read moreIt's too bad I can't rate the food separately from the service. This is the second time I've ordered take-out, once online and this time by phone. The online menu is very easy to read and understand. It clearly states that the entrees are served with steamed rice and cabbage salad. It also says that (for an additional price) you may substitute "noodles" (comma) veggies (comma) or fried rice. Pretty straightforward. I ordered "The Ultimate" entree with noodles, and the "Prawn" entree with noodles and veggies. After much confusion about the noodles having veggies in them and did I want to leave them out...I just stated to the very frustrated voice on the phone..."Ultimate with noodles and cabbage...Prawns with noodles and veggies...no cabbage". This is the second time I've gotten my food home and found Chicken instead of "Prawns" with uncooked zucchini and broccoli on top of the noodles, and bait shrimp instead of Prawns with plain noodles. I'm done. Regardless of the fact that the Teriyaki meats are exquisite, I'll order "House LoMein" from Dragon Express. Very nice staff and they take the time to ask polite questions if they don't...
Read moreAbsolutely disappointed! Ordered online(never had a problem in the past) went to pick up my food and it was nowhere to be found neither was my order ticket. Then one of the guys acts like its a burden on him that they messed up, I tell the guy talking to me that’s it’s all good stuff happens, Then they remake it and it’s not what I ordered so they scoop the meat off and instead of making a fresh piece of chicken he grabs one from his little warming tray under the grill cuts it up and slaps it on there. Then just sets it on the counter doesn’t say anything to anyone and goes back to doing whatever after what seemed like 10minutes they ask where my food is and again dude gets all obnoxious saying I put it right there! And the same dude who set it there ended up bagging it and giving it to me. Food was cold when i finally sat down to eat decided to make...
