Came here around 10:30 at night, after a 4th of July fireworks display. With the new " fast and easy " order kiosks, you put your order in, and don't get me wrong, the ordering isn't complex or confusing. The catastrophe comes when you want to get your food. Number trackers are given to you, and we day down at our table expecting to have the food brought to our table. I thought it was a pleasant change of pace McDonald's was offering for a change, straying from the stereotypical fast food ordering system. I was wrong. We waited for about 35 minutes, wondering what in the world had happened to our food. Turns out, all of our food was sitting on the register counter, ice cream melting, food getting cold while we sat there listening to the series of beeps and other noises from the kitchen. Since it was so late, we didn't bother trying to complain, as it appeared there were only about 3 employees on shift. Turns out this fast food joint was as slow as a snail, and to make matters worse, I had only ordered some fries and a drink, and after I finished I was still hungry, and I wanted to get a cheeseburger for the road. Forgetting the food was admittedly my fault, but ordering a cheeseburger didn't use to be an ordeal that took upwards of ten minutes. Point is, the food is fine, but the speed is EXTREMELY lacking. Use to be great in a pinch, but now ordering is a chore. Deserves 4 stars if you can stick to your foundation of FAST food. Ordering kiosks are great and all, and I get that the chain is trying to reduce staff where possible, but exchanging 9.25 an hour for your fundamentals is not a trade...
Read moreThis is my Go-To McDonald's and Normally the Staff is Friendly. During the Rush Hours they are Okayish Speed-Wise.
But Tonight we decided to go for a Food Run. We Normally use our apps for Points and Order separately. We were a party of 3 all Paying for Our Own Orders. It was after 10 so the Restaurant was Closed and the Curbside was Closed aswell. So we had to go through the Drive-Thru. Our initial Server was Friendly but as soon as the Driver announced there was 3 Separate Orders with Codes from the App, the Manager got on and Rudely Said we couldn't do this but would allow it this once. After each of us Paid for Our Order the Manager was evasive and wouldn't get anywhere near any of the Windows. I have Never had any Trouble with any of the Staff at this Establishment except for Tonight. Next time we will all go in and use the Kiosks. I wanted to ask the Manager why this wasn't allowed but never got the chance to as she was avoiding us at all cost. The rest of the Staff was Friendly as always and gave us our Food with a Smile. Very Disappointed in this Manager.
So if you have Several People in your Party or you are Working and Carpool with others I guess you'll have to each use your Own Vehicle. Or go around the Drive-Thru Multiple Times so your Entire Party can use their App.
They Advertise this App and Encourage you to use it so I don't fully understand why we couldn't order for 3 Different Paying Customers that where Present in the Car....
Read moreWent to the drive thru tonight. Spent 10 minutes at the intercom before being asked for my order. Placed a relatively simple order (3 adult meals, 1 kids meal). Before leaving the drive thru, I checked the order. It was COMPLETELY wrong, as in they gave me someone's else's order.
I told the drive thru girl it was wrong. She had me pull around to the front of the building. 10 minutes later, they bring out the "correct" order and go back inside. I check the entire order this time and discover they forgot 1 of the 3 adult meals.
I park and go inside to deal with it. It takes another 5 minutes (and they ARE NOT busy) to tell someone they forgot a meal. A cashier puts one together and he actually says "that'll be 7.98"...
THEY mess up and want ME to pay for it??? Are they out of their minds??? I just look at the dumbfounded cashier and walk out.
They (McDonald's, BK, Wendys', etc) are currently fighting for higher wages.
Maybe, just maybe, when McDonald's can...I don't know...do their respective jobs and actually get orders RIGHT, they can request higher wages. But until then...they just need to shut the hell up and concentrate on getting orders right before asking for higher wages...
And if you think I'm being particularly harsh, this is actually the 3rd time in 2 months I've had SIGNIFICANT issues with the Mt Airy McDonald's. So, yah...get basic orders right and maybe you should get more money. But until then??? Keep...
