What a cute place for a quick breakfast! My husband and I came in after having a busy morning and while the place was busy, the staff immediately acknowledged us and let us know they'd seat us soon. As we waited, we had the opportunity to take in all the adorable dog themed photos and decor. I loved it, being a dog mom myself. I felt right at home lol we got seated and got our drinks quickly. Our host was fast paced and to the point. We actually appreciated the efficiency and the lack of formalities. After all, the place was busy. Then our food came and OH MY GOODNESS when I tell you to get their specialties, you need to Get.Their.Specialties ! The strawberry French toast is literally cake 🍰 !!! I felt like I was very special having that plate in front of me. It was delicious. Crispy on the outside, very soft on the inside. You won't be disappointed in taste nor portion size.
The only thing u would say I wish was slightly better would be the coffee, it was a tad watered down to us- but in all honestly that might just be us being used to strong espresso, so I am keeping this as 5stars all around.
Now that we know this place exists, I definitely see this place as a routine stop for us...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Highland Street Cafe for breakfast, and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the delicious breakfast options they have to offer. From fluffy pancakes to perfectly cooked eggs, every dish was bursting with flavor and made my taste buds sing with joy.
Apart from the scrumptious food, the staff at Highland Street Cafe truly stood out. Friendly, attentive, and accommodating, they made me feel welcomed and ensured that my dining experience was top-notch. Whether it was taking my order or offering recommendations, their exceptional service added an extra layer of enjoyment to my meal.
However, I will mention that the only downside I noticed was the cramped atmosphere. The cafe seemed to have limited space, which could make it feel a bit crowded at times. While this didn't diminish the quality of the food or service, it did slightly impact the overall ambiance.
Overall, I highly recommend Highland Street Cafe for breakfast lovers. The mouthwatering dishes, along with the incredible staff, make it a breakfast destination worth visiting. Just be prepared for a...
Read moreThis is a small quaint restaurant in Mt. Dora. It's nicely decorated with pictures and dishes on the walls. They have a nice old-fashioned shelving unit hanging on the back wall that was gracefully topped with plants. It held silver plates, goblets, china cups and other dishes and gave the entire room a down home feeling. Booths line both sides of the walls with small tables in the center. Everything was clean and organized.
The waitress quickly took our order. There was a short wait for the food. The check was given just about the same time as the food was delivered. The food had a fresh home-cooked taste to it and was very good.
Unfortunately, nobody checked on our table as we were eating to make sure we had everything. My daughter had potatoes and wanted ketchup but because no one checked on us, so she decided to just eat the potatoes plain because they were good. It just may have been an oversight. I don't hold it against them.
The entire atmosphere felt friendly and wholesome. I highly recommend this place to...
