We had the pleasure of dining at PizzAmore on a Saturday afternoon and were immediately charmed by the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Upon arrival, the host graciously allowed us to choose our own table, and we opted for the cozy porch, perfect for people-watching in the heart of Mount Dora. Avery, our server, provided exceptional service—friendly, attentive, and efficient. We started with a small Greek salad, a fresh and flavorful mix of crisp romaine, feta, juicy tomatoes, an olive medley, ham, cucumbers, pepperoncini, and red onions. The tangy Greek dressing on the side was the perfect complement to this well-balanced salad. Next, we indulged in their garlic knots, and they were divine—perfectly toasted on the outside with a warm, soft center that melted in your mouth. A definite must-try! For the main course, we shared a large 14” Meat Lover’s pizza, featuring a generous mix of mozzarella, pizza sauce, pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, and ground beef, along with a half-cheese side. Every bite was packed with rich flavors, and the crust had that ideal balance of crispy and chewy. Our lunch at PizzAmore was nothing short of delightful. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, I highly recommend this cozy, welcoming pizza spot for a meal that will leave you planning your next visit. A true gem in Mount Dora!

I haven’t been here in over 5 years. We had takeout. Tonight, I remember why. I’d say the pizza is more akin to one of the large national chains, and while I don’t like Pizza Hit, Dominoes or Papa John’s, it would be an insult to them to put this pizza in the same category. This pie is as basic as it gets. It’s short on toppings, sauce and flavor. But then there was the spaghetti and meatballs. Let’s start with: they pulled the meatballs out of the freezer and microwaved them for my meal. It’s the only way I can figure out why the sauce was one temp and the meatballs another. Also, notice in the picture that the meatball is completely void of sauce. Don’t worry, it was void of flavor too. Not a spec of seasoning at all. It tasted like straight hamburger. The pasta was really overcooked, which I don’t mind that much, but adding oil to you water to keep the pasta from sticking also means the sauce doesn’t stick to the pasta. No worries, the sauce was so boring I actually had to doctor it with seasoning when I got home. How do you screw up spaghetti and meatballs? I’m convinced that if you think this place has good food, you have the palate of a 5 year old. I’ve never been to a worse Italian restaurant.

Nothing against Mount Dora but we could not find a restaurant to serve us in the middle of the afternoon in the downtown core. The Fire Marshall had shut down the Spring Arts and Craft Festival because of an impending storm. So we thought we may as well grab a meal before driving back to the Gulf Coast. Every restaurant we checked was no longer seating for lunch, not serving food until 5:00 p.m., or were closed. So we were driving out of town and saw a restaurant parking lot starting to fill up early, a good sign. We pulled into PizzAmore and what good luck! Lovely little restaurant with great food and great service. We sat in the front porch as it was bright and pleasant. I had the Black and Bleu, Texas style brisket smoked in-house with fettuccini, delicious. My wife had a flat bread pizza which she said was over the top excellent. Freshly brewed unsweetened ice tea for a beverage, very fresh tasting. And when we heard the Key Lime Pie was made in-house we ordered that for desert. Seriously good, just the right balance of sweet and tart. The next time we are in Mount Dora we now where we will be eating.

I don’t know why I keep giving this place a chance. I tried it when I first moved here 4 years ago and the driver was 45 minutes passed the time he was supposed to show up, claiming he was lost. The pizza was bland, cold, and chewy. Fast forward to now, I figured maybe it was just an isolated incident, things happen, right? So I ordered pizza and yet another awful experience. The pizza is SO RAW in the middle of the entire pizza that I can’t pull a piece of pizza out the box without it ripping and leaving the center. It is actual raw dough in the center. All we could do is eat the outer edge of the pizza because the rest was not cooked. I also ordered a salad, which you figure how can a salad get messed up??? Well it was. The croutons were not crunchy. They were like soft pieces of old bread and the dressing was so thick it was like pudding and gelatinous. Back to the pizza, the pineapple slices are SO huge we had to cut them up before We could even eat them on the pizza. I am again beyond disappointed, and it’s obvious this was not a fluke the first time I ordered delivery 4 years ago.

Worst place to go for pizza, we arrived at 8 pm and at once the waitress looked at us with a bad face. Ordered some garlic cheese breads from the start and they came a little over cooks and it did not have any garlic on it however, we did not give it great importance but then when they brought the pizza, it was completely burned, the waitress never returned to the table to ask if it was everything's fine. When no one came to the table, my husband decided to go directly to pay. He paid the full bill and left a 20% tip. Nobody asked why we decided to leave or if everything was fine. I guess they are the type of restaurant that only wants customers once. This was the first and last time we go and we will tell everyone we know about our bad experience in this place. Oh and by the way my husband and I work for the restaurant industry too so we know how things should be in BOH and FOH.
