The building for this restaurant is literally an hold house, with tables and chairs in almost every room. Maybe it's functional on most days, but when we went yesterday evening it felt loud and crowded with most of the tables filled at the front of the house.
The service was subpar. Our waitress never provided or asked us for refills on our drinks. We were seated near the host stand, where the host appeared to be not in a good mood after a party of nine (with kids) arrived shortly after us around 8pm.
My wife tried their chicken parm (over $20!) and thought it was borderline terrible. Generally for a chicken parm dish you put a good or decent looking chicken cutlet on a plate of spaghetti with some pasta sauce, topped off with melted cheese and maybe a few herbs. But this place gave her an overcooked (partially burnt) piece of chicken on top of a few spaghetti noodles that were loaded with chopped tomatoes, onions and garlic, but hardly any sauce. She wound up eating only 1/2 of the chicken itself, as the rest of the dish was unappealing.
If I could give this place a 2.5 I would, because I had their pizza last night and it wasn't bad (though there was no flavor with the crust). As a take-out pizza place this is probably a 4-star spot. But as a sit-down "Italian" restaurant, it deserves only 2 stars. Would not recommend to any locals or visitors...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of dining at PizzAmore on a Saturday afternoon and were immediately charmed by the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Upon arrival, the host graciously allowed us to choose our own table, and we opted for the cozy porch, perfect for people-watching in the heart of Mount Dora.
Avery, our server, provided exceptional service—friendly, attentive, and efficient. We started with a small Greek salad, a fresh and flavorful mix of crisp romaine, feta, juicy tomatoes, an olive medley, ham, cucumbers, pepperoncini, and red onions. The tangy Greek dressing on the side was the perfect complement to this well-balanced salad.
Next, we indulged in their garlic knots, and they were divine—perfectly toasted on the outside with a warm, soft center that melted in your mouth. A definite must-try!
For the main course, we shared a large 14” Meat Lover’s pizza, featuring a generous mix of mozzarella, pizza sauce, pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, and ground beef, along with a half-cheese side. Every bite was packed with rich flavors, and the crust had that ideal balance of crispy and chewy.
Our lunch at PizzAmore was nothing short of delightful. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, I highly recommend this cozy, welcoming pizza spot for a meal that will leave you planning your next visit. A true gem...
Read moreI am one of those people who do not leave positive or negative reviews but this place earned my very PERSONAL OPINION unfortunately my EXPERIENCE was HORRIBLE.
Here is a summary of my experience: I arrived and asked for a table for 8 people, they told me we can't join tables, you have to go outside, Outside means sitting and enduring a lot of mosquitoes but hungry and 2 children asking for food I didn't care until now, no type of attention everything has to be by phone pay online, that is to say no type of service let's say this is the new era covid19 service. My pizza brought barbecue sauce, which I had no idea what it had and I read the menu several times and it did not say that it came with that, and with this goes my second annoyance, They bring me the pizza in a take-away box without napkins, plates or any eating utensils, I remember that I ordered the pizza to eat at the restaurant, not to take home. and here comes the great annoyance which forced me to do this review, the group of people that I had next to me were WHITE people to them if they received all kinds of service, example: plates, napkins, glasses, straw, and one person several times asking if they needed anything else. Let's say that I will never return to this place. Next time, if I want to eat outdoors with mosquitoes,...
