Donnelly Park — Attraction in Mount Dora

This is a great little park in the heart of downtown Mt. Dora. Tall oak trees line the perimeter; a beautiful little water fountain feature is on the side near near the historic Donnelly house and has plenty of surrounding seating; the opposite side of the park is sloped, but has an open grassy area where the little ones can run off some energy; there are tennis courts that appear to be maintained well; and there are public restrooms outside of the community building which are clean and well maintained (Thank you city of Mt. Dora!). We love all of the family friendly community events held here, especially the free holiday events and art exhibits. Absolutely THE BEST when it comes to decorating for Christmas. It takes them a couple months just to get all the lights and decorations up. It's definitely a sight you don't want to miss! 🎄 They close down the streets of downtown for Light Up Mt Dora which happens after Thanksgiving and all the shops stay open. Our favorite is to get ice cream while walking around. It's an amazing sight to see. My bf got to see it for the 1st time last year. He was like a kid in a Disney Winter Wonderland lol. It's so beautiful. Not only do they decorate downtown but they also go all the way down to the lake too. Put on your walking shoes because you will b there quite a while just trying to take in the majesty...

The plant show was really nice. Small compared to other shows we've been to but really nice. If you plan on coming next year come hungry . The food smelled so good. 1 thing I was so happy to see was Vermont maple syrup , HAPPY HILL MAPLE FARMS. I bought a gallon of amber syrup and a jar of maple cream, and a bottle of bourbon barrel maple syrup. This maple syrup is some of the best I've ever had.
