What a nice place to go and relax. A wonderful place to fish too!
Caught my very first fish ever in my whole life. It was a 3lb largemouth bass and it’s 17.5 inches in length. Today was my 2nd day learning how to fish and man, it was all worth it. I casted my fancy Telescopic fishing rod for 4 hours straight and only got a few bites. The last one snagged my clip, hook and lure.
I had another fishing rod that I just got from Walmart and it was an Ozark Trail fishing rod combo. I don’t know the size of the line but it came with it. It was just my back up on set up for bobber fishing. I gave it a few cast because I was about to go home and sure enough I finally got one!
I posted the photos so please check it out. This event made me even more motivated to fish as much as I can. I am so glad I gave fishing a try and I am so happy that I got my first catch ever in Palm Island Boardwalk. Thanks to the City of Mount Dora and the amazing people behind this...
Read moreThis Park is real close to my home, it's a beautiful place for nature lovers. Families with small children keep them close. I've personally seen a pretty large alligator there on several occasions and you can always find little baby alligators too. I've seen a brown owl but couldn't get a good photo of it cuz it was at dusk. I would advise going either early in the day or late, give yourself an hour before dusk. Read moreAs if Mount Dora wasn't charming enough there's an awesome board walk and nature trail right next to the lighthouse! You can usually spot lots of wildlife from the boardwalk (turtles, snakes, alligators, birds). What we like is that majority of the walk is shaded, which is a must in FL!
