The bar service is absolutely horrible. To pay 20 dollars to walk in the door and have to wait 3 people deep for a drink I would say skip the hassle. They donât serve food but have food vendors come in so that is not even an issue. The bar was not stocked 3 bartenders behind the bar no one was walking around taking to the tables so the only way to get a drink was to stand at the bar. One bartender stood there texting through out while everyone was waiting. Another one was carrying her purse on her and she was not putting tips in it. It clearly was getting in her way. Not sure why you would have your purse on you while serving drinks all night is odd but there is more. While there last night my husband finally got to order our drinks after waiting very patiently like everyone else and a rude customer made a nasty comment to him and continued to make comments. He was trying to ignore them but they then insisted he should buy them drinks and said he looked like he had money so he should buy random drunks at the bar stuff. The bartender finally rung up the drinks and He told them to mind their business when they were concerned with the amount and how much he would be tipping. Complete strangers. The doorman started screaming at him without hesitation or asking what happened as he made his way over to the bar Our drinks were ordered and rung up and the doorman continued to make a scene and it was just embarrassing at this point. He insisted that he leave and was not giving our money back. Now this band we went to see is entertaining and we were prepared for it to be a busy night. They were not. We have been there a few times before to see the band brought friends to celebrate a friendâs 50th birthday one time. We Actually got engaged at one of the shows at a different location. So we enjoy showing support to them and local businesses. Other customers saw what had happened and even came up to myself and the other couple we were with saying it was totally unacceptable and left as we were leaving because they felt uncomfortable.I asked for my husbandâs credit card and the door guy wouldnât give it to me so we could leave he insisted he give it to him to continue to make comments to him. While he was outside already waiting to leave. But instead of diffusing the situation he was instigating it more. Do not go to a place that staff treats people like this while trying to enjoy...
Read moreAttended a comedy event here tonight and was sadly disappointed in the venue. They had us crammed in at tables like sardines when there was more space to be used. It was 1000 percent a fire hazard. I tried to get a plastic cup of water from bar and they charged me a $1. No biggie but I didnât have my wallet, it was at the table. Since it was so crammed it was hard to get back to table. No courtesy from her to say âoh donât worry about a $1 or bring it after show ends.â NOPE!!!! So I went though a sea of people & back bc I was very thirsty. When show ended they turned up the music so loud you could not hear yourself think. Immediately after it ended. They didnât give us any time to converse with one another. It was clear they were trying to make us leave with the obnoxious music. I politely asked them if they could turn it down & they were rude about it. 3 employees were rude about it. Another member of my group asked a different staff member about turning it down & they were also rude. They put out a âlast call & come close your tabâ warning & then within 10 minutes lights were blazing & they were herding us out the front door. I donât know how anybody finished that last drink. Staff was yelling at us: move towards the front door, towards the front. I felt like I was in Disney! I wouldnât recommend going there. Totally classless. This is why they canât improve Mt Holly or get people to come here. There were also tables of people towards the front of the venue that were not there for the show & who were making an awful lot of noise. Several times I missed a joke bc those patrons were talking loudly. I paid $35 because it was a fundraiser & it was interrupted by loud, noisy patrons who really shouldnât have been there during a show. No staff member did anything about that noise. Def not going back to this place & Iâll make sure to tell my...
Read moreAfter being here once to see a band. I went again to see the same band but this time The Union Firehouse had food. That's right, food will soon be offered here. From the owners of Kitchen 87,they are bring their unique food to the Firehouse. I had the distinct pleasure of being there when they decided to have a few samples. Like their ribs...which were mouthwatering and savory and their shredded pork shoulder brisk with their bbq sauce. All with a variety of beer. Bathrooms were very clean. Bartenders and bouncer(s) were friendly. The sound in here is great. I do have to say,its better than some venues in Philly. Plus, its the only venue like this in a lot of surrounding area. In fact, the only one. I go to a lot of shows everywhere. Nothing like this compare to a more comfortable roomy place. Parking is easy, just around the corner/across the street behind the houses. It sounds confusing but very easy to find. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves live music that sounds great with good people, beer and food. I'm looking forward to...
