CHAAVA — Restaurant in Mount Laurel Township

Stopped by for a treat before dinner but ended up so full, I postponed. Clean place, like a cafe, but not a cozy one with cushions and benches.

A few people stopped by for some drinks, one got a binsu to go.

I can't recall what drink I got before but think the drinks were too sweet for me.

Mango binsu: nice, sweet mango and mango sauce. Probably a bit too sweet, so it's nice it's on the side. Ice itself is kind of milky, thought it was shaved ice but it's basically like ice cream. Also had a scoop of mango ice cream on top. Nice, creamy. Pretty large, would split with someone.

I went here recently with a few people, and it was amazing! I ordered a boba and a limoncello mascarpone. The boba was great of course, but the limoncello mascarpone was so delicious. It was light and creamy and not overly sweet, literally perfect. My sister asked me to try her carrot cake (and I have never liked carrot cake in my life), and I decided why not? I have never tasted a carrot cake like that. It was so ridiculously good, I considered ordering another slice to go. I didn't though, there was only one (awesome) woman working, and I didn't want to overdo it! Fast service, a cute space, and yummy snacks - Chaava is well worth checking out. We dined in and it was a cute spot.

My main intention was to get the bingsoo, as the other closest place that serves it is Mango Mango. Chaava's bingsoo is a little smaller, but they offer more flavors. I tried the mango one and it was delicious, had all the toppings you'd expect on bingsoo. Price was reasonable so this one's a must!

We also tried the carrot cake. If it's home baked, props to the chef as only the frosting is sweet and the rest of the cake is a lot more mild and tastes great as a result.
