I was hoping to get a smoothie bowl or yogurt bowl of some kind, a flavored iced coffee, and a sandwich all at one place for a decent price and Metto had exactly what I wanted!
To start, the online ordering system was fantastic. There were options for add-ons and modifications for everything I ordered, which is a must for me when ordering iced coffee- many restaurants don't have the ability to order coffee as as decaf on their website (or at all!), and I end up having to forgo coffee or go somewhere else. This was not the case here, so I was really glad I could get the strawberry fields latte as iced AND decaf!! I left the acai bowl as it comes, and I added chicken to the pesto mozzarella sandwich.
I ordered around 9:55 and the expected order completion time was 10:09. It only took me about 3 minutes to get to the restaurant, so I wasn't expecting my order to be ready when I got there, but they already had my coffee for me while I waited on the food! I decided to get the earl grey scone as well. The rest of my order didn't take long to come out, and they gave me a ton of napkins as well as a fork, knife, and spoon in the bag. I ended up eating inside, which was a nice experience besides the loud music along with all of the other noises going on. It was bearable, but I wouldn't have felt inclined to stay any longer than the time it took to eat.
The scone was great, not too dry, not overly sweet, and didn't taste stale or like it was prepackaged. My coffee was perfect, great flavor, not too much ice, and they got the decaf part correct, which I was very thankful for. (I have definitely gotten regular coffee when I ordered decaf at other places and it isn't a good experience).
My sandwich was warm, not super hot, and the added chicken went well with the rest of the ingredients. The tomatoes were fresh, the mozzarella had great flavor, and the chicken wasn't dry. I do wish there was a bit more flavor to the pesto, maybe some basil, but I'm not complaining lol. The bread wasn't my favorite, I'm just not a huge fan of super crunchy bread, but again, I'm not complaining. It was a great sandwich and was very filling.
I waited an hour or so after I left to eat my acai bowl. The first thing I noticed was that the acai had a great flavor and didn't have any of the bitterness or frozen fruit flavor that acai often has. I think it's only possible to get it blended and frozen here in the US, but it didn't taste frozen at all. The other fruit included was great, very fresh and there was enough of it. The granola and honey were great as well. You could definitely add more ingredients if you wanted to, but it didn't seem like it was missing anything, if that makes sense. The size of the bowl was perfect, I didn't feel ripped off lol. It was much bigger than the bowls at Tropical Smoothie and a little bigger than the ones at Smoothie King, which are both around the same price as the one I got here.
I paid about $35 for everything (pre-tip and tax), and the prices seemed comparable to other coffee shops and restaurants in the area. If you just want a sandwich and a coffee, you'd be spending about $20.
The employees were all super nice and the restaurant was very clean. The food was brought to your table, inside and outside, and the tables were cleaned immediately after customers left. The restroom I used was clean with plenty of hand soap and paper towels available. There was a small table with sugar and sweeteners, half and half, and the trash can, which was also clean and well-stocked.
Overall, I was glad I choose to come here for lunch and I would definitely recommend eating here if you...
Read moreWe have visited Metto at least once a week for five years. We always sit outside and never overstay our welcome. We are good customers buying $15 to $20 in pastries each visit. I always tip 20% or 30%. This morning we walked in to order and the Owner, in a loud and demeaning voice, told my wife to pour her Starbucks coffee into one of his cups. She and his staff were embarrassed by this request but they gave her a cup and she did just that. I told him that we were loyal customers. My wife liked a particular coffee at Starbucks for this morning. He told me that he was the Owner of Metto, a small business Owner and that I could buy his coffee or go and buy pastries at Starbucks. I told him that I would do just that and that we would never be back. Maybe he was in a bad mood, maybe he likes to bully girls and women but I just do not accept that attitude. Be careful visiting Metto. The Owner is on some kind of macho trip. He insulted his staff and my wife but I was not going to be berated by him. I would understand his policy except we spend so much there every week while the Owners buddies sit for hours outside taking up a large table drinking one coffee. So three days after I wrote this review the Owner responds to say that his policy is that only his products sold at Metto are to be consumed on site. Keep in mind that he did not know if we were buying pastries to take with us or to consume on site. No questions were asked, just get out unless you buy our coffee with your pastries. No apology for his bully action. Keep in mind we have been there approx. 200 to 250 times. I will never visit...
Read moreI used to LOVE Metto, as it is super close to my house and has chai lattes that are equal to, if not better than Collective Coffee's. I also love double-stamp Mondays and earning free coffee! Oohh, having a drive-thru is great too! (Although I've gotten stuck on the line because an out of service sign was on the machine. It would've been nice if a warning was poated before guests drive into the lane.) Unfortunately, the last 2 times I was there - the service was really slow and my order was wrong. I always get egg and cheese on an everything bagel (better get there early, cause they've run out multiple times) and a chai latte. I've received (in the drive-thru, therefore not realizing my order was wrong until I'd driven elsewhere) a bacon and egg croissant, as well as a turkey and cheese bagel before, which was not what I ordered. The ginger latte that was mistakenly made once was also not a pleasant surprise. I really, really want to love Metto because of its convenience and my positive experiences there in the past, but when I start having consistently disappointing meals, it's time to go elsewhere. If you do go, I recommend ordering inside (and staying to dine on the cute, little patio). They may have improved recently, which I hope...
